China has a paltry military by world standards. Should it stay that way because we ask them to do so? I don't think so. They have a national interest to protect too. I would be more worried about the japanese who want war rights added back into their constitution and have the second largest expenditure on  the military in the world. With trade allies like Japan, who needs enemies.</description>
