I belong to a submarine reunion association and we were planning to have our next reunion in Portrland. One of the submarines that was part of our group, USS Blueback, is at the OMSI. The reunion was scheduled for October 2009,
which is the 50th anniversary of the commissioning of the class. As a result of the demonstration, some of our members do not believe that they can, in good conscience, spend their money there. We are now looking for another place to have our reunion. People who do not respect the very people who make it possible for them to demonstrate don’t deserve our money or our time. And,no, the U.S. is not like a piece of newspaper or a paper bag.

Defecating on a flag is no more offensive than defecating on a newpaper or a pillow case. The offender should be cited for public indecency. Big deal.

Great post except you allowed a bit of the MSM’s terminology to slip into your diatribe – the word “insurgent,” which is too kind of a term for these cowardly murderers. Insurgents are revolutionaries fighting for what they believe is a higher purpose. The people you describe who blow up children and other innocent people are nothing less than “barbarians.”
