How can he say that politics bought down the indians...like ganguly has not performed intentionally. This is a shame and a clear example of regionalism that the author and dravid suffers from. Ganguly score 5 fifties in his last 6 match (except 1 innings of 48), ganguly was the man of the series against srilanka, moreover ganguly has said clearly that "captaincy doesn`t excites him). 2. Why didnt he say the samething about Tendulkar, whats his contribution, every time theres a need he`ll fail for sure. More so was the need in this World Cup bcoz hes going to be the next captain (as hes already the vice captain). So India s loss would be of more advantage to sachin and NOT SOURAV. 3.Moreover thinking like these and people like these spoils the team spirit. There was no politics. The main reason for Indias failure was the players not performing : 1. Chappell has spoiled the palyers confidence (eg. harbhajan, sehwag, pathan....). 2. He and Dravid made the Indian team a laboratory for experiments(if given a chance they`ll do it till next world cup also!). And neways Gagnguly was and will be far better captain than Dravid. How can the author expects that Ganguly will go and console Dravid, he should know the treatment ganguly got from dravid (ganguly helped dravid immensly by carrying him in the ODI team when the latter was dropped).
