I first wrote about Donald Witt last May. Mr. Witt’s wife ran a daycare in their Kettering, Ohio home. Mr. Witt was accused of having not only shared child pornography, he’d created it – some of it with children as young as six months — and shared his creations. Someone he’d shared with was in the process of trying to get something of a reduced sentence and tipped the cops to Mr. Witt and his debauchery.
As it turned out, the infant in question was not six months old at the time the film was made. She was only four months old.
In July Mr. Witt, 52, pleaded guilty to transportation of materials involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.
He was sentenced today to 10 years in federal prison, and must undergo sex offender counseling. At the time of his sentencing, he tearfully apologized to the parents of the victim and to his own family. “I am so sorry for the pain and suffering I have caused in your lives. I know I destroyed a neighborhood. I took so much away from everything.”
Personally, I still think they should execute him. Ten years isn’t enough, though. He’ll only be 62 if he serves the full sentence (which you know he won’t). That’s too young to let him back out around children.
