Dell seems to be in corrective state after the company lost its No. 1 position in the industry to rival Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) last year. The positioning is on basis of recent reports from IDC and Gartner Inc.

CEO Michael Dell said that the company is quashing bonuses for 2006 and reducing the number of managers to help cut costs. As per him in 2006 there were great efforts made but no significant results could be achieved.
