[...] Last week I wrote about feminist blogger Amanda Marcotte being named ‘Blogger-in-Chief’ for the John Edwards campaign. Though Marcotte has been very critical of the men’s movement (and of yours truly), I think she is a talented writer, and I like her personally. But Marcotte is a foul-mouthed radical feminist, which is an odd blogger-in-chief for a presidential candidate. I predicted that she would be a “fodder-rich target for Edwards’ enemies.” This has now begun. [...]

[...] Suddenly, RawStory doesn’t look all that risible. Maybe the blogosphere will more rapidly supplant the MSM than we’d thought? You know people like this young maven? Nope. Senator Edwards’ web chief manages to complain at the cosmic injustice of haveing to deal with a late flight AND say she woudl like (the whites) on the Duke LaCrosse team sent up the river because of who they are instead of what the disgraced Mike Nifong alleged they did. In all fairness though, she does believe they did it. They are white men who “party”, after all. Their grandfathers, well, if any of them had grandfathers in the Antebellum South, were so evil after all. I’m sure they all participated in lynchings, right? Yeesh! [...]

[...] Now he hires Amanda Marcotte as his blogmaster: Ms. Marcotte will be taking up residence in Chapel Hill in the near future, and says “[the Edwards] campaign also excited my interests, because we have the goal of making the most out of the untapped resource that is the internet. Already this blog has more interactivity and genuinely interesting and issues-oriented content than any other campaign site I’ve seen thus far, and with the new staff we’re bringing together, we will be able to take it much further in that direction. Internet organizing is still in its infancy as far as I’m concerned and I expect that the presidential election of 2008 will be a major factor in taking internet political organizing to the next level. Of course I want to be a part of that!” [...]

[...] Feminist blogger Amanda Marcotte has just been named ‘Blogger-in-Chief’ for the John Edwards campaign. (Marcotte, you may recall, is very critical of the men’s movement, and recently labeled my column Men Blamed for Marriage Decline but Women’s Relationship Wounds Often Self-Inflicted, Chicago Tribune, 1/21/07, “hateful”).
