The label New Age always disturbs me, I prefer the term ‘neo clasical’.  Billed as New Age, Richard Dillon is anything but! Thee is no Yoga or time for meditation with Terra Incognito: The Space Between is an album that you cannot ignore. The tempo bounces around and I love it. I was certain that I was in for a treat from the first track Whalesong Redux

Sure there are some tracks that fit into the New Age cubby hole and they are very fine works, and then there is Color Me, all bets are off:

I am in love with this way too short song, I have lost count of how many times I have listened to it, but every time I do I get to smile. Music was and always will be a vehicle to drive emotions. Sadness, happiness, love, anger, life, death, music can portray them all.

I think it is fair to say that Terra Incognito is a very different animal from his previous albums. I think it is great when a musician takes on new challenges and heads in new directions, this album is a aural treat.
