My mother had a saying ‘Never judge a book by its cover’. It had nothing at all to do with books and everything to do with people and what is inside them. I am a book reviewer, and I must disagree with her, I do indeed judge a book (at least in part) by its cover. It is the cover and title that attracts the browsing reader.

OK, I know you are wondering what on earth this has to do with a CD by Dan Kennedy. Well quite a lot! I looked at the cover art, and looked at the title, Mountains Made Of Shadow, Anthems Made Of Light. What did it mean? I loved the title, I played the album and all the while the title was rattling around in my brain.

I have theories, but not facts, enough of my rubbish, lets talk music.

As always Dan has produced a wonderful result. Of course this should come as no surprise to anyone that knows his work. Classically trained at Oberlin Conservatory and New England Conservatory, he certainly has the pedigree for great music.

Mountains Made of Shadow is a wonderful adventure into peace and tranquility. Try this track out for size.

Dan also has a web site.

You can order your copy of this very fine album by using the Amazon link above.
