“Well now, I stayed up ’til early this morning And my eyes were burning with pain.
I stayed up ’til early this morning And my eyes were burning with pain.
‘Cause I stayed up all night waiting For my blog to refresh again.”

“Ain’t no China Internet highway anymore
You gotta walk the darkened hutongs like before
Them cables out near Taiwan broken lay
Beside them gigabytes of data stay
Ain’t no China Internet highway anymore”
—Internet Hutong Blues by Lonnie “Pearl River Delta” Hodge
I now think the best way to cripple a country and demoralize its citizenry is to disable is not with bombs and military incursions. The fastest way to revert an economy to the dark ages is to unplug it from the Ineternet. I am still suffering from the Internet Hutong (Alleyway) Blues: My connection is so slow (How slow is it? If I were that slow I could get hit by a parked car!) I can no longer tell the censored sites from the ones timed out by connection problems.
The Internet will get better and hopefully my humor as well….
