As if riding the tallest, fastest, gut-wrenching roller coasters in the world isn’t daring enough, Six Flags Great America charges its patrons with a new challenge. A dozen parks across the nation will be taking part in a promotion geared towards their annual Halloween “Fright Fest.” Starting Oct. 7, Six Flags’ visitors may sign a waiver that will grant them the opportunity to eat and swallow a live Madagascar hissing cockroach. Those who choose to indulge in such a delicacy, and successfully complete the dare, will be rewarded with a free T-shirt, as well as a “flash pass.” This “flash pass” carries with it almost instant access to all roller coasters, as it permits the owner of such, and three of his/her friends, to jump to the front of the line.

The Health Department discourages the act due to the risk of incurring a gastrointestinal illness or allergic reaction upon consumption of the 3-inch foreign insect. When prospective visitors were sought for comments, most people claimed, “they wouldn’t eat the cockroach, but they’d love to see other people eat it.”
The promotion runs through October 29th, and visitors can complete the dare between 7pm and 8pm on Fridays, and 5pm to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
