Like all of you, I have all sorts of emotions going through me after this election…
I want to be nasty and say I guess Uncle Festus and Cousin Clyde up in them there hills are still soaking up the moonshine, having a good old time…

I’m sad because after eight historic years, our first African-American President and his family are leaving. Was he one of our great Presidents? I’m going to let history decide. He did steer us through one of the greatest recessions America has ever seen, one that is far from over, a mess he inherited from the party that just won…

I’m trying very hard to be optimistic by thinking, “Hey, let’s give Trump a chance, he could be the second coming of FDR.” But then I woke up because Mother Nature came calling…

I’m also thinking about the Hundreds of thousands of men, women and children who are about to lose their affordable health care.  By no means is the ACA a perfect system, but with hard work, less greed from the health care corporations, some bi-partisan cooperation and a little compassion, the ACA could become the envy of the world.  It’s hard to believe that the “leader of the free world” can’t come up with a way to insure that it’s citizens can manage their health in an affordable way.

But most of all, I’m feeling that “survival mode” begin to kick-in just a little more, you know, the mode that makes you feel that no matter what’s coming, you will make sure you and the family will endure, a feeling that the men and women you don’t like may be running the country, but they are by no means running your life…

Hell, I made it through Jim Crow, Nixon, Reagan and the Bushes, this should be easy..
