Senegalese are morning the death of their national who tried to stowaway in a Delta Airline plane bound for Atlanta, Georgia, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively reveal. The deceased whose identity is yet to be released by the US Aviation Authorities was found lying dead in the wheel of a  Delta Airline flight which landed in Atlanta yesterday,Delta officials told the Freedom Newspaper. A Delta spokesman said the victim was found in the plane’s wheel after their flight landed at the Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport.

Delta started operations in the former French colony Senegal on December 4Th of 2006. An official of  the airline confirmed the incident. The official said the incident was being investigated by US and Senegalese officials at this hour.”I’m very shocked. It’s a terrible tragedy.”he said.

The Boeing 767-300, which carried other passengers landed in Atlanta yesterday. Some members of the Senegalese Community blamed the incident to poor aviation security in that West African country. They told this paper that a similar incident happened in Dakar in the past where some youths died while trying to stowaway to France.  But an official of Delta said he could  not confirm the said assertion since investigations into the incident were ongoing at this hour. The official said once investigations are complete further information would be released to the media. “The media would be informed accordingly about any other information we gathered.”said the Delta insider  who spoke to our reporter.

Meanwhile, Federal  law enforcement officers met with the flight on arrival in Atlanta and are working closely with Delta authorities to investigate the cause of the incident, which devastated the Senegalese population. The Freedom Newspaper gathered that the man who tried to stowaway was not found with any forms of identification.

Many West African Nationals off late had been using Senegal, as a crossing point for their Western dream. Many died on their way to Spain and other landlocked countries such as Libya. The Wade government in the recent past tried to discourage the nerves syndrome by providing skill training to the disgruntled youth population.
