Austin, Texas police department need the help from the public to find 2 year old Cheyenne Johnson who was abducted this afternoon around 2 pm by her father, Jesse Thomas. The police say Thomas does not have custody of his daughter.
The reports say Thomas went to his mother’s home on Friday and when she refused to allow him in he went around the back of the house and kicked the door in. Once he entered the house he grabbed the little girl and took off.
The last place they were seen was I the 1800 block of Anita Drive in Austin. They are believed to be in a car driven by Thomas which is a 2005 Mercury Marquis 4 door with a Texas license plate number DN3F648. It has silver rims and it does have damage to the rear bumper.
Cheyenne has been described as being a white female, that stands about 2 ½ ft tall and she weighs about 25 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt that has flowers on it and navy blue shorts.
Foxaustin.com reports that according to Detective J.J. Schmidt Thomas was spotted at a U-Haul facility and when officers attempted to make contact with him he came at the officers with his vehicle and took off at a high rate of speed. A short pursuit ended shortly after due to heavy traffic. Schmidt claimed that Thomas had hit speeds of over 100 mph while his daughter was in the car with him.
Thomas is considered to be dangerous and he should not be approached if seen. They say Thomas has a violent history and that he is currently out on bond for aggravated assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon.
Authorities are asking that if anyone sees them or if they have any information about their whereabouts to please call 911.
I pray this little girl is found before any harm comes to her.
UPDATE: Austin Amber Alert suspect Jesse Thomas has been taken into custody, according to Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Troopers located Thomas’ vehicle this morning on the southbound frontage road of Highway 249. The road is blocked at Spring Cypress. Police had the suspect cornered in a parking lot of a Petco store. They were actively negotiating with him. Thomas turned the child over to authorities around 9:30 a.m. and was taken into custody after a brief struggle a short time later.
