An Amber Alert has been issued for 3 year old Tommy Lee Able Engle according to the Virginia State Police and Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse. The child was last see at 367 Oak Hill Lane, in Critz, Virginia about 24 hours ago.
The police have reason to believe the boy could be in extreme danger and that he was taken by his father, Tommy Lee Travis Engle, who has reportedly made suicidal and homicidal threats towards law enforcement.. It has also been reported that he might be armed with an AK-47 and he might have a bullet proof vest.
Little Tommy is described as being a white male that stands about 3 ft tall and he weighs about 35 pounds. He has blue eyes and he has short blond hair.
The father has been described as a 34 year old white male that stands about 6 ft 3 in tall and he weighs about 200 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.
The police have warned the public that is they happen to see this man not to approach him, to please just call their local police department. They also ask if anyone knows anything about the whereabouts of this child to please call the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office at (276)694-3161 or they can call the Virginia State Police at 1-800-822-4453 (1-800-VACHILD)
I beg of anyone that might have some sort of helpful information that could help bring this little boy home to please call the authorities so that they can bring him home before something bad happens. I pray that God will watch over this child.
UPDATE: The Amber Alert has now been cancelled.The cancellation was made just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, about 20 hours after it was first issued. The child, Tommy Lee Able Engle, was found safe in Pikeville, Ky., deputies said.
The boy’s father, Tommy Lee Travis Engle, 34, was arrested around 12:50 p.m. in Pikeville. He faces two felony strangulation and malicious wounding charges against the child’s mother and is awaiting extradition to Patrick County.
