For over a week I had been seeing commercials on TV advertising Syfy’s movie coming soon named Sharknado 2. I had seen the original Sharknado movie so I thought this would be great, so I waited patiently until Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. CST.

I was happy that they decided to air the original movie first, following with the second one. It helped set the scene to understand just what to expect. The original movie was set in Los Angeles, where flying sharks appear when a freak storm hits. There are hundreds of man-eating sharks and a hand full of friends struggle to get rid of them, using whatever weapons they can to end the tragedy.

Here is a trailer to the original Sharknado movie:

Now in Sharknado 2 the same type of storm hit New York City. Has it followed the same group of people that fought the sharks in the first movie? Well it appears to have done just that. Fin (Ian Ziering) and April (Tara Reid) find themselves back fighting the sharks. Fin notices them as they are on a plane flying into New York as they cause the plane to have to make a crash landing. The storm destroys some of the city’s most famous icons such as the Statue of Liberty. Once again Fin and April are the only ones experienced in fighting the storms so they use whatever weapons they can get their hands on to try to save the Big Apple!

Here is a trailer you can watch of Sharknado 2.

Syfy has announced that the shark-infested sequel has raked in a total of 3.9 million viewers on the July 30, 2914 airing.

The movie is good, if you can get past the fact of how ridiculous it is. I am a sucker for this kind of movie though. So, yes I did enjoy the movie. I am not saying that Sharks flying through the air attacking and eating people is ever likely to ever happen in real life, but I still liked the movie.
