It is yet another case of an abduction from a non-custodial parent. In this case out of Provo, Utah, 13 year old Pablo Enrique Rivera has been abducted by his 42 year old father, Juan Enrique Rivera. According to fox13 the father apparently abducted his daughter 5 years ago and he has never returned her to her mother, Maria Hernandez. The Provo Police Department has issued an Amber Alert for the boy.
The report says that the boy’s mother came home Friday night and found a note saying he was going to Mexico with his father. Rivera is Pablo’s biological father but he does not have custody of the boy. Authorities believe the two might be traveling to Mexico through the San Ysidro, California border crossing to end up in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Pablo is described as being Hispanic and he is about 5’5” tall. He weighs approximately 100 pounds and he has black hair and brown eyes. He also wears prescription eyeglasses.
Juan is also Hispanic and he is said to be about 5’10” tall and he weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
They are thought to be in a white four-door Chevrolet sedan with Mexico license plates TYB1590. The police think the boy’s grandfather is with them also in the car. The boy’s cell phone was last traced to Barstow, California Friday night but unfortunately it has been turned off after that. The police have alerted the border patrol to try to stop them from leaving the country entering into Mexico.
The police are asking for the help of anyone that has any information on this case to please contact the Provo Police Department at 801-852-6210 or you can just call 911.
I pray this child is found safe and returned home to his mother.
Update: Provo police have discontinued an Amber Alert for a 13-year-old boy, saying they believe he is in Mexico and “is not in any danger.”
