An Amber Alert has been issued by the Mississippi Highway Patrol for 2 year old Maliah Harris. According to the reports, the toddler was last seen with her parents as they left their home in Caledonia, Ms. this morning.
Sadly when the police arrived they found a 7 month old child, Maliah’s baby sister dead in the home according to Investigator Eric Granderson who is with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. The reports are that there were no signs of violence and the baby didn’t have any visible signs of any injuries that would have caused get death. Granderson said that they will know more once the autopsy report comes in.
Chief Deputy Marc Miley said that the grandfather of the two children had found the infant’s body inside the family home around 5:30 this morning and while he was on the phone with 911 the parents of the children, 34 year old Donald Boyd Harris and 31 year old Allison Studdard, grabbed the two year old Maliah and left in a black or brown 2002 Pontiac Aztec with Georgia license plates PGR7927 on it. They could possibly be heading to Alabama or Georgia.
Donald Harris is said to be about 5’11” tall and he has blue eyes and dark colored hair. He weighs about 201 pounds.
Granderson is telling everyone that if they happen to see the couple they should not approach them. Instead he advises to please just contact the authorities and let them handle it. They are asking that is anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Maliah to please contact the MHP at 1-855-642-5378.
I pray that this little girl will be found and that she is safe. Please God, watch over her to keep her safe.
Update: The couple was found in Sylvester, Georgia just after midnight on Thursday. The two year old toddler was not harmed. The police say that Harris and Studdard are being questioned.
