They finance the building of a mosque near the Vatican but refuse to let Christians practice their religion in the kingdom. Let's face it Saudi Arabia is not a monarchy. It's a dictatorship backed up by religious fanatics. Their mutawas or religious police are mostly indoctrinated former prison inmates who delight in taking every opportunity to stamp out any traces of western promiscuity. Without the help of the West the Saudi empire would collapse like a house of cards. Their extortionately expensively equipped military machine can't even tie their own bootlaces unless the Americans step in and do it for them.
