According to Boston.com (The Boston Globe), those closest to John “F.” Kerry expect him to run for president in 2008. As a frustrated conservative-libertarian who would love to finally vote for a Democrat, I find this a letdown.
Between Kerry’s embarrassing Vietnam-era activism, his questionable conduct as a soldier, his wishy-washy I-voted-for-the-war-but-didn’t-think-Bush-would-****-it-up then I-voted-for-the-funding-before-I-voted-against-it stance on the Iraq conflict, his gun-grabbing agenda masked behind bad shotgun-wielding photo-ops and manly-man “I go deer hunting on my belly” stories…if he runs I will be voting for a Republican while holding my nose again. Or maybe going Libertarian just to make a point, if I find the stench of the GOP nominee noxious enough to seep through my clenched fingers.
But then again, I haven’t heard too much about any other Democratic candidate that libertarians — or even non-leftists in general — could stomach. Maybe it’s just hopeless.

Yes, I would say that pointing out what a disaster this man’s last run for president was constitutes useful commentary.
