This is another missing persons case that is from my home town where I have lived almost all of my life. A 28 year old mother of a 3 year old son has been missing since Sunday, December 8, 2013. The last time she was seen was on a video cam from a gas station in Slidell where she purchased a pint of alcohol, cigarettes and food. The video shows where she got into her car and left alone.
Previously she reportedly was at a bar, Natal’s, which is located on Hwy. 11. She left a bar tab there that shows she bought a variety of different alcohol just before leaving the bar.
Friedman’s car, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata with a Louisiana license plate #VIH 727 was seen traveling south on Hwy 11 near Eden Isles. Authorities were told that Friedman had mentioned that she wanted to go to another bar, Crazy Al’s, which is located on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain close to Fort Pike.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office is using helicopters to search the surface of the lake in areas north and south of the lake that is not easily accessible by car. They are using marine division boats equipped with side-scan sonar devices in the Lake to perform an underwater search surrounding the Hwy 11 Bridge.
The STPSO is asking that is anyone who may have seen this woman late Sunday night or early Monday morning at Crazy Al’s or any other bar in the area of Hwy 11 or the Rigolets (north or south of the lake) to please call 911 and report it.
I do hope Crystal is found soon. This must really be hard on her three year old son wondering where his “Mommy” is. I pray she is safe and that she comes home soon.
UPDATE: I am so sorry to hear about Crystal Friedman. They found her car in the water somewhere not far from where she lived and her body was in it. The family suspects foul play but the Sheriff says they need further investigations before that can be determined. My thoughts and prayers are with her family tonight.
