George Zimmerman has almost become a household name these days, almost like Casey Anthony. For those that need a reminder, he is the neighborhood watch guy from Florida that was acquitted of second-degree murder in the shooting death of the 17 year old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida.
Well apparently earlier this month George found himself in trouble with the law once again, only this time for domestic violence. He is being accused of aggravated assault, domestic violence battery and criminal mischief. Reports say that Zimmerman’s girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, told the police that George pointed a shotgun at her after she asked him to move out, She claims that he broke a glass table and then he shoved her out of the house and barricaded the door.
Zimmerman insists that he did nothing illegal as he entered a plea of not guilty. He told the police that he and his girlfriend had been together since August 24, and she was pregnant but earlier that day they had decided to separate and he had planned to move to Texas.
His side of the story is that he was packing his things to leave when Scheibe started throwing his stuff around the house, including two of his guns, the shotgun, and one of his handguns. He denied ever pointing a gun at her though.
In a search warrant that was made public Tuesday, police found a 12 gauge shotgun, an AR-15 assault rifle and three handguns. He was also in possession of over 100 rounds of ammunition when he was arrested.
Zimmerman is now free on a $9,000.00 bail. He was released on bail but with conditions. He has to wear an electronic monitor, he has to keep his distance from guns, and he is to stay away from his girlfriend.
I wonder what comes next with George Zimmerman!
