One of the programs that I am involved in is the refurbishing of computers that we then give out to low income families in the Calgary area (over 1,100) in less than 2 years! I would say that maybe 1 donor in 10 asks us to 'wipe the drive'. Most are happy as clams and don't say a word! It is lunacy. As it is, our policy is to format every drive and lay down a new copy of Windows. Legal copies, we are a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher. My advice to anyone selling, or donating a computer, or even just a hard drive is format it first!
