In a surprise development, Ford’s executive vice president and president of international operations, Mark Schulz, has announced his imminent retirement from the company.

One of Ford’s seniormost executive, Schulz’s departure comes at a particularly sensitive and fragile time for the vehicle manufacturer, struggling desperately to stay afloat in the US auto market. Schulz though was handling what are more prosperous regions for Ford : Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific. It is not clear yet as to who might replace Schulz. But for him, it has certainly been a long journey ever since he started work as an assembly worker for Ford.
