Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Series 6 has been newly remastered and restored to their original U.K. broadcast order. It debuts on Blu-ray and arrives on DVD on August 28, 2012. We have David Suchet starring as Agatha Christie’s mustachioed mystery solver, Hercule Poirot, in the four feature-length episodes included in Series 6.

Poirot gets help from Captain Hastings (Hugh Fraser), Chief Inspector Japp (Philip Jackson) and Miss Lemon (Pauline Moran) as they investigate the baffling cases handed to them. The Poirot series has aired on ITV1 in the U.K. since 1989 and on PBS and A&E here in the U.S. Series 6 originally aired in 1995 – 1996

The guest list on the Series 6 includes Damian Lewis in one of his first roles and Kate Buffery.

The four mysteries on this DVD set are as follows:

1.    Hercule Poirot’s Christmas -  Poirot decides to take a vacation in which he is looking for a nice and quiet holiday but unfortunately his vacation is cut short. While at the family gathering for Christmas, Poirot finds himself investigating a murder at a wealthy man’s country estate.

2.    Hickory Dickory Dock – Miss Lemon confesses to Poirot after she made several errors at work, that she is worried sick about a series of petty theft at the hotel where her sister works which turns to a murder. Poirot is left to investigate the case.

3.    Murder on the Links – Poirot’s reputations precedes him as he goes on a vacation in France. He gets involved in a case of abduction and murder.

4.    Dumb Witness – The premonitions of two sisters come to a gruesome life leaving Poirot and Hastings to solve a murder case by communicating with a silent witness.

Agatha Christies Poirot, Series 6 is a 4-disc set on DVD (2-Disc set on Blu-ray) and it runs for approximately 415 minutes on DVD and approximately 428 minutes on Blu-ray.
