The Ann Arbor News is reporting that the Florida tribe of Seminole Indians is planning to buy the entire Hard Rock franchise from its British owners.

The purchase includes not only a world-wide network of 124 Hard Rock Cafes (with locations in Japan, Venezuela, Malta, India, New York, and our own Hard Rock Cafe Detroit, down on the ground floor of the Compuware Building), but also 4 Hard Rock Hotels, two Hard Rock Casino Hotels (one of which is already operated by the Seminoles), 2 Hard Rock Live concert venues, and the world’s largest collection of rock and roll memorabilia — more than 70,000 guitars, drum kits, pianos, harmonicas, sweat-stained leather pants and rehab clinic IDs.

The price tag for all of this? Just a hair short of $1 billion.
