Leftists accuse conservatives of “hate speech” at the drop of a hat so I like to record occasionally where the real hate speech comes from:
Hate speech against Christians in Australia
The Australian Christian Lobby’s state director Wendy Francis says she was subject to a barrage of abusive emails and calls to her mobile phone after the LNP announced changes to surrogacy laws.
Mrs Francis started receiving the phone calls on Friday morning and estimated they were coming in every five to six minutes and she was also sent emails with pornographic images attached.
She tried to answer as many phone calls as she could but saved voicemails left on her mobile while she was talking to other abusers.
In one of the voicemails listened to by brisbanetimes.com.au, the caller says: “You’re an evil slut and you’re going to f–king hell you dirty, f–king scraggy b–ch.”
Another caller said: “I don’t know how you can go to sleep at night when there are people who are suffering, families who love each other dearly and they’re suffering because of your discrimination, because of your fear and because of your bigotry.”
The calls came the day after Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie announced intended changes to altruistic surrogacy laws to exclude same sex couples, single people and couples in a de facto relationship of less than two years.
The ACL supports the changes.
“I also got three email messages with porn and the porn was disgusting,” Mrs Francis said.
Homosexual hate in Britain
A newlywed couple have been targeted by internet trolls after they joined a campaign against the Government’s gay marriage proposals.
Campaign group Coalition for Marriage (C4M) said Rhys and Esther Curnow, both 23, from Newcastle, have been subjected to a torrent of abuse on Facebook and Twitter.
C4M, which is a coalition of groups opposed to plans for same-sex marriage, backed by former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey, said the messages included deaths threats.
One Facebook message said: ‘I really hope you & your husband turn out infertile & die of cancer. That would be something to celebrate.’
Another, on Twitter, said: ‘Did Esther Curnow suffocate and die a sad and lonely death in her polyester wedding dress yet? No? Shame….’
And a further tweet said: ‘Esther Curnow needs a punch in the face. That is all.’
C4M said one troll urged others to send excrement to the couple, who married in March and live in Newcastle.
They have also been told to ‘Go and die and rot in hell.’
Internet hate; One of the vile tweets targeting young bride Esther Curnow
The group said the hate campaign began after Mr and Mrs Curnow took part in the presentation of a C4M petition to Downing Street last week. They posed outside the famous front door in their wedding outfits. The petition opposing proposals for gay marriage has 575,000 signatories.
C4M campaign director Colin Hart said: ‘The level of abuse that this young couple have been subjected too is shocking…. Mr Hart said the matter has been referred to the police.
Fact-free hate speech from MSNBC
And they get some pretty ripe speech back by way of reply, as is fitting
MSNBC’s continuous string of near slander against Mitt Romney has just spawned yet another aggressive bit of push-back, this time from Neil Cavuto of Fox News. You may recall that MSNBC anchor Lawrence O‘Donnell recently slammed Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann Romney, for claiming that she participates in the sport of dressage as therapy for her multiple sclerosis. According to O’Donnell, “There are a lot of things you can do to try to deal with MS. But come on, dressage does not appear in any of the more traditional courses of treatment.â€
Turns out that that assertion is breathtakingly wrong, as Cavuto pointed out while citing multiple clinical organizations that treat multiple sclerosis and consider horse therapy a very traditional, and often very effective form of therapy.
He then proceeds to go right for the jugular, while still remaining preternaturally calm, calling MSNBC a collection of “horse’s asses“ and slamming them as â€condescending, sanctimonious“ people with â€incredible ignorance†of multiple sclerosis treatments.
