When one looks at the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’  one has to wonder. I read this crap and I just want to explode:
Javad Shamaqdari, the director of the Iran Cinema Organization, argued its victory was a sign that “American judgment bowed before the Iranian culture and Oscar voters showed a different reaction to the Zionist lobby, which is escalating war,†the Tehran Times reported.
This is Bull Tehran Shit! Since when did Iran permit any sort of free speech? I guess that what bothers me is that the quote above comes from the LA TimesÂ
I am particularly concerned about:
American judgment bowed before the Iranian culture and Oscar voters showed a different reaction to the Zionist lobby, which is escalating war,
This is BS from the highest order. American judgment did not bow to anything. And it certainly had nothing to do with the ‘Zionist Lobby’.
There were five movies nominated in the category, all were better than A Separation, did politics get in the way?
I view this Oscar as a travesty, it is hardly the first time, and it will not be the last. But A Separation is about as much fun as a root canal. The chances of it making it to any megaplex is about zero.
Four other film makers worked long and hard, they made films from the heart. Yes I was rooting for Bullhead. It was a long shot, the Vegas betting line has it at 33 to 1. But it was a far better film than some propaganda crap out of Iran.
I am really upset that Javad Shamaqdari, has the balls to claim that America is “bowing downâ€.
We do not bow down to anyone. Take your Oscar and run. The statue is fine, but a Cruise Missile up your bum is a real problem. Â
