It all started with Rick Santorum, his anti gay comments provoked the Gay community to put up a website SpreadingSantorum.com that has caused a good deal of embarrassment to the Santorum camp. Rather than quietly deal with the problem by creating ‘Santorum’ rich articles that Google would place higher in the search rankings, there by mitigating the effect of the offending web site, they went on the war path, whining and crying to anyone that would listen to them. Needless to say, this merely increased the public interest, and boosted the sites popularity in both Google and Bing searches.

Today the word is out that Mitt Romney is suffering from Google front page search results with a site SpreadingRomney.com . It is equally as offensive as Santorums, and it is climbing in the search ranks. You can read more here.

Well, there is a new kid on the block, SpreadingGingrich.com.

This site is still in its formative stage, but obviously it is going to be a less than flattering site about Newt Gingrich.

It will be interesting to see if SpreadingGingrich achieves the same high rankings as the other two.

I have not looked, but I’ll just bet that there are some other Spreadingxxxxx.com sites in the wings! Obviously this is a clear indication that you do not need to be a Super PAC to get your negative message across.
