This will be Edward Curry’s third Maya inspired novel. Up until relatively recently the world of the Maya was something that few people outside of the archeology world had even heard about. Like many of the great ancient civilizations they were fabulous engineers and astronomers. They also have left us a great mystery, the Mayan calendar. It abruptly end on December 21st 2012 when there is a very unique astrological phenomena, one that happens only once every 25,800 years.

There are some that claim that on the winter solstice of 2012 the world as we know it will be forever changed. The intelligentsia call this precession. In simple terms, the Earth will align itself in a very unique way.

Edward Curry explored this theory in 2012 Maya End Date: A New Beginning and the Temple Of The Two Jaguars. Both of which are well worth reading! They are very fine action/adventure stories with an exotic background.

In both books he retained his main characters, a Smithsonian specialist Dr Allie Lee Shelton, and her ‘magnet for trouble’ husband Ryan Keshaw. Edward Curry also introduced us to Ahau a modern day Maya spiritual leader and Catalina, a Maya fortune teller.

Edward Curry also sent an image of the front cover. The front cover of 2012: A New Maya Nation Emerges actually contains many clues to the the story, if you know what to look for. Here is  2012 A New Maya Nation Emerges

I will even give a clue. If you look carefully, through the dense jungle you can see a Maya structure, but it is in a clearing. Think about it.

At this stage I think it would be inappropriate to discuss the plot other than to let you know that if you enjoyed 2012 Maya End Date: A New Beginning and the Temple Of The Two Jaguars you will certainly enjoy 2012 A New Maya Nation Emerges . The main characters are back and this time we get to meet some new and very interesting ones.

2012 A New Maya Nation Emerges is slated for a November release.

Edward Curry has just put up a web site about the book. I suspect that clues will emerge over time.

More soon.
