I am not a political animal, for the most part I find politics about as entertaining as a root canal. It matters not a hoot to me if the unfortunately named house member Anthony Weiner posts pictures of his member. To quote from a TV advert for some cell phone, ‘There is an app for that‘!

Nope, politics is boring. Politics has nothing to do with the people anymore, it is merely another growth industry for those incapable of getting a real job!

Many years ago a friend of mine was ranting about life in general ‘Those that can DO, those that can’t TEACH’. It would be simple to change that to ‘Those that can DO, those that can’t LEGISLATE’.

I do however have strong feelings when politics starts to invade my personal life. The one area that I care a great deal about is food. I like to eat. I like big juicy steaks, I like fresh vegetables (including Brussel Sprouts), I like garden fresh small potatoes boiled and then butter and mint added, in other words I really like food!

Food is not political? Or is it?

In actual fact food is a very political arena. One that crosses party boundaries, and one that every person should be aware of.

Starting tomorrow at noon eastern, 9am pacific, The Food Revolution Papers will be hitting the air waves. I will be joined by Mannie Barling and Ashley F. Brooks, and we will be exploring the murky world of how food has become a political subject.

Organizations like the FDA and USDA are independent, right? They look after our best interests, right? The answers might surprise you.

Did Monsanto try an influence foreign policy? Maybe some of the diplomatic traffic released by wikileaks suggest an answer of yes. Just how do Big Food, Big Pharma, and Big Agriculture influence what is on our food plate? We will explain.
