I'd recommend a documentary called Dying to have Known. I'm not sure what I believe or what it proves, but certainly brings to light just how important nutrition is in our lives. you can watch it here. http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/dying_to_have_known/

what nonsense.

If a person needs extensive education in nutrition, I send him or her to the dietician.

Doctors diagnose and treat, we aren't your mother, even though the Obama administration wants us to bully our patients into good behavior (polls say our advice "works", which merely suggests that people tell the pollster what he wants to hear).

As for the "medical school/big bad industry" links, this is a minor problem in academia.

And drugging "kids"? You have to understand that Harvard psychiatric department gets the really hard cases referred to them...the ones that no one else can handle. Not just from Boston, but from all over New England.

And until you've worked with the extremely mentally ill, you don't understand how terrible the behavior could be, even with children. However, you are exaggerating when you try to extrapolate this as if we docs treat the regular population this way.

You know those guys with "links" to drug companies? Some of the money is giving talks to docs in conferences, and other of the money is to pay for the medicines and the paperwork associated with large drug trials (that are needed for FDA approval)... If I have a patient who will die, I can send them for free experimental treatment that might save their lives.

But the dirty little secret is that lots of people are alive today because of the "evil" drug companies.

Here in the Philippines, poor people die of hypertension, just like my patients in the US in 1960 did.
