I watched yesterdays Casey Anthony Frye Hearing with some incredulity. Jose Baez while arguing the defenses reasons for wishing to have certain scientific evidence removed from the trial, used what likely was a PowerPoint presentation to reinforce his points. The use of visual props can be a powerful court room tool. They provide a focal point for all to see. However the generally accepted method of employing these tools is to leave a ‘positive’ image of the point being made.
Several years ago I was asked to write a book on the subject of producing effective PowerPoint Presentations. As I recall the introduction page included the comment:
…I do not plan on wasting your time on the obvious things such as running Spellcheck…
Obviously Jose Baez and his team did not read my book, nor attend my class on the subject. I was aghast when he decided to use this slide in open court:
Let us hope that this slide is not indicative of the quality of their overall trial preparations!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackWell, there it is. A fine anal-nysis of what we DO expect from a Duh-fense-less team. Why are we being forced to pay for this again? And I’m speaking this thought from the view of a Disney ticket purchaser who will end up paying taxes that will funnel to Bozo’s wallet! Lord help us fools, for we are blinded to the truth by our own spirit of doing the honerable thing and not just triple bag-duct taping the skank and tossing her in the woods. No, we’d rather spend millions to prove the obvious and then maybe, just maybe, in 20 years or more, put her down in a humane way. The next rulers of this country (see the fall of Rome for a sneak peek) will probably utilize a swifter justice.

I wonder if Mason thinks he will walk out with Casey on his arm and give her away to Bozo, to be the next Mrs. Bozo. Oh sorry meant Baez, lol

I seriously can not believe this! When I first saw he was using PowerPoint, I was like, oh here we go, then I was like, seriously, this is the level of quality in his work, because the sides were so bland. Then I burst out in laughter at the realization he was ever so seriously using the aid as his clicker, prompting him with a nod when it was time to advance slides. First of all, there are remotes and usb add-ons to assist in clicking to advance slides in presentations. Secondly, SERIOUSLY – you have to have an assistant to present your slides, as to which one would expect even more from them than this! WOW! I was blown away, then to find THIS! I really hope the judge picks up on this insanity. It sickens me watching the defense play dumb through this, trying to get things as they want them to allow her to walk, and I do think there is more between bozo and casey, it is way to personal for him and it is obvious!! It makes me sad for Caylee to see this insanity.
I saw this when he first put it up on the screen and thought to myself what the heck! Now with KC being a play paralegal why didn’t she tell him and with the other girl I think Martinez is her name that gets the water for them where was she when this went down. But you know I think Jose is doing all he knows with the brain that he has.So this is what she will receive and what she paid for but she also was flirting with another attorney in Jose’s law firm and he made it clear on the internet that he was not interested. I think his name is Garcia so he said in his interview he will not be going back to the jail to handle any business with her.KC is getting just what she deserves and she really thinks she is going to win!!!!
my fear is with all the (duh)fense making themselves look ignorant…..if…I guess I should say WHEN Caseys’ convicted…..she will want to appeal on the basis that she didn’t have “adequate” representation…..because that bunch is ANYTHING but “adequate”!!!!!!

…unable to determine the meaning of his slide by using words not in the dictionary…
