caylee3.jpgOrlando’s ongoing attraction in the courtroom is scheduled to appear in court again Friday April 1, 2011. Casey Anthony is fighting for her freedom and perhaps her own life as she is being charged with first degree murder with the state asking for the death penalty if she is found guilty. She has been accused of killing her two year old daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony.

Caylee’s remains were found in the woods within walking distance of the Anthony family home on December 11, 2008. They were stuffed inside a laundry bag which was then placed inside a garbage bag and she was thrown away like she was nothing but a bag of trash. The child was not even reported missing until 31 days after she was last seen. Her mother told authorities that she was searching for her daughter on her own.

The case has some very disturbing evidence against the mother but is mostly circumstantial evidence. Can this be enough to convict her? I say it might be hard but I feel the state has enough that can indeed bring back a verdict of none other than guilty from the jury. Jury selection begins on May 9th.

The defense feels they can not get a fair trial for their client in Orlando. To be honest I don’t think it matters where they are now. With an honest group serving on the jury panel listening to what evidence they do have they will probably find her guilty, I am just not sure if they will agree to the death penalty. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

In the meantime cfnews.com is reporting a private detective that at one time worked for the Anthony family is scheduled to be deposed at the Florida State Attorney’s office today at 2 p.m. Dominic Casey also was at one time working for the defense team.

Dominic Casey was videotaped while searching in the same area that Caylee’s remains were found. He was seen talking to someone on the phone and it looked as though the person he was on the phone with was telling him where to look. Although the definite identification of who he was talking to still is not known, it has been said that it could have possibly been either a psychic, his daughter or Lee Anthony.

The word is out now that as of Friday evening a local attorney from Orlando has signed on to represent Dominic Casey.

The defense team is fighting the system really hard to have some of the evidence that the state has against their client thrown out. I assume they know if the evidence is allowed in the trial it will hang their client. Will her own words come back to haunt her? Better yet will her own mother’s words pull in a guilty as charged verdict from the jury?

The defense team is challenging the prosecutions use of the cadaver dogs that they claim detected the scent of decomposition in the trunk of Anthony’s car and also in the play area where Caylee use to play in the family’s back yard. Their expert witness, Dr. Scott Fairgrieve says the canines are not scientific instruments and he insists that there is error involved with the scenting ability of a dog.

The defense team is questioning the air samples and chloroform asking if it is actually evidence or can it just be considered junk science. Their own forensic chemist, Dr Kenneth Furton directly disputes the prosecutions witness, Dr. Arpad Vass’s findings saying there are no scientifically validated methods capable of identifying the presence of human remains based on the presence or absence of specific chemicals. Furton is also says such evidence shouldn’t be admitted in court. He stated, “In some cases, novel methods turn out to be unreliable.”

Defense expert and noted forensic pathologist Werner Spitz is challenging the Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jan Garavaglia’s conclusion that the duct tape found on Caylee’s skull was placed there before decomposition. He says her statement is flawed since there was no DNA from Caylee found on the tape. Based on what he finds, there is no scientific information available that the death was at the hand of another as Dr. G says.

I guess we will just have to wait until Friday when the hearing resumes finding out if the defense is going to get what they are asking for on this. If they don’t will they take another stab at Judge Perry like children throwing temper tantrums? Are they going to try to delay a much overdo trial even longer? Well I will be watching the hearings to find out.

Caylee needs some kind of justice here. I pray that she will get it when this trial is finally over. Let’s keep the children like Caylee Anthony, Haleigh Cummings, Adji Desir and even the adult children like Zachary Pittman along with all the other in our prayers that have been abused, kidnapped or murdered. They need to be protected. I pray that an answer to stop all this against the children of the world today will come soon.
