Casey Anthony, the mother of the little girl from Orlando, Caylee Anthony, is scheduled to go to trial in May which some consider way overdo. The way this case has been conducted so far has been amusing to say the least. A wannabe high class attorney, Jose (Bozo) Baez seems to have done nothing but make himself look like a clown in the eyes of America for the past two and a half years as he appears before the judge for his motions that sometime appear to be a waste of the taxpayers dollars.
As we all know, Caylee Anthony is the 2 year old child that was reported missing 30 days after she was last seen in June 2008. The remains of the little girl were found on December 11, 2008 within walking distance of the Anthony family home by an Orlando meter reader, Roy Kronk. Caylee’s mother was indicted and charged with murder in the first degree and the state has asked for the death penalty if she is found guilty. The case has captured world wide attention and people are sitting on edge waiting for the outcome of this trial.
Judge Belvin Perry is about the fairest judge one could ask for in a case such as this one. He does a very good job keeping the defense and the prosecution in line. My advice to the attorney’s involved, would be not to try and pull one over on the judge. They won’t get away with it with him.
Today Judge Perry made a few rulings on some of the motions filed by defense attorney Jose Baez.
The defense team wanted to use the past record of the man that found the remains of little Caylee Anthony, saying he had a possible history of inappropriate behavior with young girls, a history of abusing, restraining and holding women against their will, using duct tape to restrain women and even said there is a chance he knew the locations of the remains before alerting law enforcement.
Perry ruled that Roy Kronk can be questioned about the calls he made reporting the suspicious looking bag but his past history can not be used against him during the trial.
Perry also denied the defense motion that asked for permission to subpoena photos that they claim a search volunteer took of Suburban Drive and he has denied the defense seeking to limit telephoto lenses.
Perry did however approve an additional $860.70 in taxpayer funding from the JAC for transcript services.
Prosecutors wanted to be allowed to question Tim Miller, president of Texas Equusearch about a statement he made that Anthony almost marked on a map where Caylee was. The defense argued that the opinion of Miller was unfounded, irrelevant and immaterial. I guess Judge Perry agreed.
Defense said that a table knife that was found in Anthony’s car had no link to the case and shouldn’t be used as evidence at the trial and Perry agreed with them.
The next appearance in court for the defense which Anthony will not be attending is set for Monday, January 24 at 4 pm when Judge Perry will hear more of the motions filed by Baez. They are expected to be asking for more investigative hours. They asked Perry for an additional 300 hours which if approved could cost the taxpayers and additional $12,000. WESH.com will be covering the hearing live.
I will be so happy once this case goes to trial. It has taken way too long to prepare for this case at the expense of the taxpayers. I hope if I ever got into trouble and can’t pay for my defense that the state spares no expense like the state of Florida has done in this case to make sure I get the best possible defense there is. This woman is getting way more than she deserves, but then again that is only my opinion.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackNo disrespect but I don’t think prosecutors wanted to ask Tim Miller about KC’s putting an X on the map. In fact the state said they had no intention of asking Tim to “speculate” on what KC was going to do with the map.
Bozo and jar-head filed a motion to get that part of Tim’s statement excluded from trial, but no where have I read in any documents released, where the state had any intention of using it.
The @ssclowns threw out crap they thought the state would be using to convict KC.
The stupid Jib-Jab video was another piece of evidence Bozo filed a motion to exclude.
The state, again, agreed because they had no intention on using it either.
(I bet LDB and JA are still laughing about that motion)
The duhfense is desperate!
I enjoyed your article, Jan. I miss hearing you and Simon on Sundays.
Yes, Bozo has made an A_ _ of himself thru this whole ordeal. I have never seen an attorney be so disrespectful to their profession that they took an oath on, the law, the courts, Judge Perry. I never hear of such lies and made up stuff that he comes up with. Of course Bozo’s Mumbles hasn’t impressed me either. It would of been better if he would of left this case alone, and kept the good reputation he had. All these two do is work on motions. The had their 2nd list of witnesses s questioned, and again, what the Dufense was hoping to get, and what they were smirking about (as they thought they had caught the big fish, only for the witnesses once again) prove the Dufense wasn’t using the right bait. The said the water level where Caylees remains were found was waist high, and no one could look their. Back before Mumbles got on board this gravy train ride, he himself said the water was to high.Once on board Mumbles changed his story (and has tried to be like Bozo) by lies, deceit, and bad mouth the media, and has made a fool out of himself also. Have you read the awesome motion that the Prosecution submitted against the Defenses motions. It is simply wonderful, very professional and to the point. If you haven’t go to the Hinky Meter Casey Anthony. If you want to see the difference between Professionalism vs Court Clowns, the Prosecutions response is very compelling.
Justice for Caylee is Coming. We certainly need to thank the Honorable Judge Perry for being so fair, and for the Prosecution being their for Caylee, when her own relatives turned their back on this precious baby that did nothing to deserve the horrific way she was taken from this world.
Seems sort of odd that Bonzo would be more inclined to out Kronk’s supposed so called past transgressions and make another attempt at grandstanding in the courtroom, when he didn’t want any proof of what his client was up to in the days after her daughter went missing. Let’s make everyone else look like the bad guy, but keep my client clean and pure-Puleeze!
When is this loco of motion behavior going to stop? Just wasting more money.
Great article, Jan! Yes, Simon and you need to start up that weekly on Sunday radio program again-Please?
Hi, Jan!
Thanks for the great article!
Casey Anthony has cost the taxpayers a tremendous amount of money. All because of her lies!
Anthony is entitled to a fair trial but I think it is absurd that Baez and team has wasted the taxpayers money with their “fishing” expeditions!
Now that the state (Florida taxpayers) is picking up the tab, Baez keeps requesting more investigative hours.
What exactly did he and his so called initial “Dream Team” (all have fled) accomplish? Nothing!
Instead of making TV appearances and road testing: take the focus off of Casey and “point the finger” at Kronk, TES, Jesse Grund, etc., Baez should have been working on Casey’s defense.
He is about 3 1/2 months away from trial and he is still floundering!
I think after the trial, Casey’s appellate attorney (whoever that might be) will be filing incompetent representation as one of many reasons to appeal!
