Autism Sunday falls on Sunday 13th February this year. Cathedrals, churches, organisations, community groups will be marking Autism Sunday with church services and autism awareness raising events around the world.
Autism Sunday was launched in 2002 by British parents and carers, Ivan and Charika Corea. What was a small acorn of an idea hatched in their home has turned into a huge worldwide event – in the cause of autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.
Co-Founder Ivan Corea urged parents, carers and the Autism Community to use Autism Sunday as a platform to campaign and lobby for genuine and lasting change where autism and Asperger’s Syndrome are concerned.
Autism Sunday also known as the International Day of Prayer for Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome is an opportunity to campaign on the serious education and health issues facing over 67 million people with autism around the world. National leaders and Religious Leaders have backed Autism Sunday, now in its ninth year.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackHaving a day for awareness of these afflictions is wonderful.
The number of people affected by Austism/Asperger’s, including the number of new cases diagnosed each year, is staggering.
Aside from having this day of awareness more attention needs to be drawn towards finding the exact root cause(s)and developing preventative measures.
One thing I noted in my Son’s case is that his Pediatrician had ordered allergy testing to be done in addition to creating a treatment program (medicating as if he had adhd which I highly advise against.)
My Son is highly allergic to nearly everything he was tested for. Is it possible that my Son is severely allergic to the vaccinations that he was given?
He is like the boy in the bubble only his bubble is psychological and invisable. He lives in his own world and I am scared for him.
Now that he is an adult it is even scarier than before.
