It was announced several weeks ago that Mr. and Mrs. Obama had not been invited to the forthcoming Royal wedding in Britain. I reproduce below a commentary of unknown authorship on the matter. I have tidied up a few infelicities in it.
Despite official denials, the non-invitation is obviously a slight to the Obamas personally — principally motivated, one imagines, by the airs that the bumptious Mrs Obama customarily gives herself. What a contrast Mrs. Obama is to the ladylike and discreet Laura Bush! The observation below that Mrs. Obama has “no class” is obviously subjective but in this case richly deserved, I think. That she apparently once called the mother of the groom an “over-sexed clothes-horse” would by itself be fatal. Prince William is devoted to the memory of his late mother, Princess Diana.
I am not sure that all the allegations below are well-sourced — some would have to be speculation — but they seem plausible. That Mrs. Obama is burnt up about the non-invitation has to be true, I think
Michelle is livid over the snub and Obama can’t believe it… “What is happening and what can I do about it?” seems to be the thoughts in Obama’s head. Meanwhile, William and Kate have it together.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are planning a royal wedding in April, 2011. It appears that Prince William personally told the wedding planners to strike the Obamas from the guest list. He apparently stated, “He did not want Michelle Obama trying to pull her center of attention ploy trying to upstage Kate on Kate’s wedding day”.
Sources reveal that William states, “She may run Obama, but she doesn’t run him or England”. The Democrats and Obama would like to play the race card as they have done so many times in America, but it is difficult when other black heads of states are invited to the wedding and will be warmly received.
Now, what are the future King of England’s reasons for snubbing the Obamas to the world and making them a laughing stock? It has nothing to do with America beyond our being so stupid as to elect such a low class imperfection to the office of President and First Lady. The decisions that they make can and will affect the world.
Secondly, Michelle called the Prince’s mother Diana an over-sexed clothes horse and further stated that she, Michelle, was more popular than Diana ever was.
Thirdly, Michelle Obama showed her butt at every major social function endeavoring to be the Queen in the limelight. In other words, just a lack of class.
Fourthly, the Queen, William’s grandmother also has her reasons. Obama refused to bow to her, but a few days later bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia . Michelle manhandled her by becoming too familiar by putting her arm around her. The Queen only shakes hands with gloves on… That is the tradition and it is still honored by the Royals. The Queen said to her staff, “Never allow that woman to be in the same room with me again” and she meant every word of it.
The gifts from Obama and Michelle were both tacky and in poor taste… It is all a matter of class. In addition the Queen supported Prince William in his decision, due to the fact the word is out about the lavish booze parties at the White House, the expensive vacations and state visits that cost the American tax payers billions of dollars unnecessarily when the American people need the resources… We here can’t decide if it is just low class, no class, big a_s or all that has just been mentioned.
The Obamas are desperately trying to make it a slight against America. Every past Head of State has always been invited… This is not a state function and William is not yet a Sovereign. It is just a multi-million dollar private wedding and the Obamas have been royally snubbed by the British Royals; not America , just the present classless leaders…

Not only is this information not well-sourced, it is not “sourced” at all. You do not seriously think that anyone in a position to know the Queen’s or Prince William’s thoughts on any head of state or his wife talks to the to the British tabloids from which trashy claims like this come? Such people never do. The tabloids, on the other hand, regularly speculate and make up stories about the royals in the absence of any solid, factual information to print. If you were, as I am, a veteran reader of British media, you would know that.
As for Michelle Obama’s supposed comments about the late Princess of Wales and her own popularity, if you believe that, I have some land in Florida I’d like to sell you. The actual information from Buckingham Palace on the Queen and Mrs. Obama is that they got along quite well and that the Queen invited Mrs. Obama to return for another, private visit when she made a later trip to the UK with her daughter. That visit was made. the iPod was chosen as a gift because the Obamas had been told that the Queen liked her old iPod. (Yes, she had one that she very much enjoyed. Her own family has said that she is tech-savvy.) The newer one the Obamas gave her was loaded with footage of her last visit to the US.
Now, we do not know who has and has not been invited to the wedding, because this is certainly information that Clarence House has not released to the press. Since the wedding will be, indeed, not a state occasion, the guest list will be small — only 600 people as compared with the thousands invited to the state wedding of Prince Charles. Given this limited number, it will make sense for few or no heads of state to be invited. If heads of state ARE to be invited, then they will likely be heads of Commonwealth countries, something that the US is not.
I think you need to educate yourself rather better on the British royal family, on the British media, and on the UK in general. You seem woefully underinformed.
What an appalling article. Clearly the MA and PhD were bought from an American university. I don’t recall seeing Reagan at the Wedding in 1981. Nor Truman when Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip were wed. Funny that. Perhaps they didn’t have any class either. Like most vulgar Yanks and the author of this piece.

This is a story to tell a story – when any one shows a less than flattering observation of our `First Lady and her Husband’ – and there area plenty here – I find it amusing that this `couple’ (The Obamas)have provoked people into making these comments – quite deserved in my humble opinion. Well said Vittoria. The Wedding Guest List has not even been published yet. When it is I am pretty sure a representative of the United States will be present – but not necessarily President Obama himself. For President Reagan did not attend The Royal Wedding in 1981 and President Truman did not attend The Royal Wedding in 1947. Articles like this (and the comments supporting it) make Yanks come across as retards – which sadly a lot of them now are.
Turns out a source for this story is The Daily Mail in Britain. It states President Obama has been snubbed. He hasn’t been snubbed because a President has never attended a Royal Wedding – only his representative attends (like a wife).
This article is written by a right wing Obama hating republic. Rarely have I read an article where the discrimination has been so blatant. I strongly believe that the Obama’s represent America with more poise and class than the Bushes ever did, at lease this president can articular a proper sentence rather than being the laughing stock to the rest of the world. I would like to know where this author is getting his inside information, my guess is that is he gets it out of thin air. I highly doubt that William has it in for Obama, considering the Queen’s warm reaction to their visit she might insist that they do get an invite.
This article is trash. The supposed “quote” by Mrs. Obama is a flat out lie. She handles herself with dignity and is always well spoken. Bless William and Kate, I wish them every happiness. But, as is typical, the tabs go wild whenever an event such as this one takes place.

Great article. It looks like England, along with the rest of Europe has washed their collective hands with the “rock stars” political couple. The President and First Lady’s charisma which rocketed high and bright prior to the election is now quickly heading to a painful and embarrassing self-destruction as the their true character is revealed.
Who cares if they are not invited. All I know is when I saw Michelle wipe her nose with the back of her hand, the first time on Larry King, I knew then she needed charm school. She did it again at the Tucson memorial. I can tolerate President Obama. She is just an opportunist who lucked into a position of notoriety and doesn’t know how to behave. Next time, the Queen should wear a wet suit to avoid the touching!

Maybe that ipod was special because it has footage, but it cost mr. obama about $200-400 (depending on size/type) (which came out of tax payer money) and maybe an hour of his time putting photos on it, and the royal family got him a silver lined frame…an expensive, liquid silver frame…and we got him an ipod…what does that simbolize in America? fat and lazy…relying on technology, greedy…gee thanks mr. obama..also it was confirmed that the obamas have been striked off the list, and other heads of state are being invited.
IF this article is true, I commend the Royals for their Truly GOOD taste in who they DON’T want at a wedding that they are paying for! I have been to England. Wonderful country, wonderful people. As an American I was well recieved. I was in a pub when England played the US in soccer. Great humor between myself and the English about the game. The US lost.

And how do you know that the story is racially motivated. I don’t care what color Obama is, he has made some stupid, careless, and disastrous mistakes during his term. However, anytime he is criticized, it becomes a racist comment. And if an african-american criticizes him, that person is labeled an Uncle Tom.
Technically, he is bi-racial, but he is the one that chooses to be a “black” president. He was raised by white grandparents, but they don’t get much credit either in his writings. He uses his “blackness” when it suits him and then claims prejudice when people don’t agree with his actions which are a reflection of neither his set of genes.
Actions, or inactions, are color blind. Grow up, Mr. President, being POTUS is not a position for those with thin skin no matter what the color.

Hey we’re stuck with BO and MO for the time being. I don’t support the socialistic ideas of either, but hey folks, those people on welfare and the left wanting socialism and maybe worse put them in the highest seat in the house. Unless you can get the 40 percent of the people in this country (or more) to try to take personal responsibility, likely they will take time off their TV reality shows, drug running, or grocery shopping on your and my dime to vote for him again. But as I said, we’re stuck with both of them and for that reason and that reason only I wish they had been invited. We’ll likely get some sort of tax or new social program to off set the UK snub. They are very much in love and there has never been any type of scandal about their marriage.
