What do you get when you combine a grumpy Simon with the research team of Mannie Barling and Ashley F. Brooks?

This simple answer is something that should be made illegal by the current S.A.L.T. agreements. (note to Iran, don’t get us involved, it won’t be pretty).

Early last week a comment was posted on Blogger News by a Dr. Andrew Weil, since when did University Profs and well known members of the medical world manage to find time to read lowly articles on Blogger News?

I smelled a rat! There is little doubt that Surviving The 21st Century has caused some cases of Heartburn within Big Food and Big Pharma. My suspicious mind was wondering if by chance this might have been an ‘industry sponsored’ piece of propaganda?

A cursory online look at Dr. Andrew Weil does not reveal much, but information is a bit like an onion, you have a hard shiny outer layer that seems so harmless, to get to the stuff that makes you cry you must peel that layer back.

Dr. Andrew Weil is indeed an interesting gentleman. His exploits as a doctor are curious to say the least. While doctors are not classed as being part of the ‘working poor’, few can afford a $2.5 million mansion on 85 acres of land. But that is merely the tip of the iceberg.

Where and who are his patients? What is his connection to Drugstore.com? What is the Weil Foundation, and what does it really do?

Before becoming a researcher and writer Mannie Barling spent many years as a very successful attorney. It was his digging into Dr. Andrew Weil’s legal history that answered many of our questions. As Mannie explained to me, if you want to find the truth, look in the court records. It is estimated that Dr. Andrew Weil has received over $12 million in commissions and other payments from Drugstore.com alone. The court documents also reveal that Dr. Weil’s contract was to promote and market Drugstore.com’s partners products, partners being Big Pharma. Is Weil a shill? Do bears go to the bathroom in the woods?

We still have many unanswered questions about Dr. Weil, we can find no evidence of an internship, and by his own admission he not a mainstream doctor who saw patients until criticism by other doctors caused him to receive privileges in the hospital at the U. of Arizona where he teaches.  Apparently, no one else wanted him. He admits that he has never been involved in critical care. Yet he claims to have done a one year residency, and our sources are telling us that critical care is part of that job!

At the same time, he operates charities that refuse to provide any transparency (financial documents) into their actions. Nothing is more suspicious than a Doctor using a charity to conceal his income.

When a charity refuses to disclose its use of money generally it is a fraud or spends far too much money on its directors. Okay, if Dr. Weil has not benefitted, then why does he live in a mansion with servants.

Dr. Weil admits to trying to force all naturopathic practitioners to hold at least 4-year degrees, and to be officially licensed. He also makes statements on behalf of the drug companies that all homeopathic remedies should be controlled by the FDA.

In simple terms that means that only licensed practitioners approved and licensed by the AMA could sell vitamins and minerals in health stores.  That would mean that all vitamins and minerals would require a prescription.

There is no logical reason for Dr. Weil to do this other than to advance a goal of organized medicine – to control the manufacture and sales of vitamins and minerals.  All of the smaller businesses that have put everything they own on the line to make products they believe in would be closed.

No more mom and pop vitamin stores.  No more Chinese herb stores.  No more traditional remedies. And the elimination of any products not made or supported by Big Pharma.

As the Wyze Health Report says, “It would rest control of alternative medicine into the hands of the American Medical Association if naturopathic and holistic healers were indeed required to be licensed by the same medical schools that teach orthodox medicine.  It would constitute Dr. Weil’s greatest gift to Big Pharma and to the A.M.A.”

You know what drugs made by Big Pharma costs now, imagine what you vitamins would cost if they could only be bought with a prescription. It would be another windfall for Big Pharma at the expense of hard working Americans.

There is much more about Dr. Andrew Weil than I could possibly fit into this article. For a much more in depth discussion please listen to the recording of Surviving The 21st Century which you can find here.
