Have you ever sat back and wondered just how everything you do today will look say 40 or 50 years from now? Do you ever wonder just how it will effect the future of the world years from now?

This film, The Age of Stupid brings us to the year of 2055 and makes you want to ask yourself just why we didn’t do something about what was going on in today’s world to save it.

Sometimes listening to these things will make someone uncomfortable but maybe that is what is needed to wake people up. Maybe it will make someone stand up and decide they are not going to sit back anymore and do nothing.

There are discussions of various subjects such as the changes seen in lives and comments on the direction the world is heading. Some are not so easy to listen to. We see West Africans whose communities have seen promises made and broken by major oil companies who guaranteed health centers and then backed out just so they could get what they came there for to begin with which was the oil.

We are made to see just how wasteful Americans can be by some of the simplest things such as throwing out perfectly good shoes for reasons that makes no sense instead of because they are worn out.

The Age of Stupid focuses on the archivist as he tries to work out why we didn’t save ourselves when we had the chance to do so. There are news clips, interviews and scientific reports from out current time, each with fair warnings of the signs of destruction that is inevitable if we don’t change our current consumption practices.
