The Jerry Lee Lewis performance is from late 1981: he's in inspired form, but he looked very thin & frail as this followed his near-death stomach surgery that summer.

What a shame the compilers aren't familier with the Hank Williams classic 'You Win Again' though ('I Trusted You' indeed...).

Wonderful write-up about what sounds like an exciting DVD collection. Gene Weed was a part of The Academy of Country Music/Dick Clark Productions back when I first became a member(early 70's), he and his brother, Ron( passed many years ago) did a lot of award shows for the ACM, from what what used to be called The John Wayne Theater there at Knotts to The Good Time theater. I'm actually surpised they start basing their shows in Vegas a few years ago as Los Angeles was the 'grassroots home' of ACM for many years with Fran and Bill Boyd. Im getting the feeling this DVD is compilation of various shows from the 70's-80's since they dont do the shows relating to the ACM there anymore which is a pity!

Many thanks for the honorable mention of some the performers you listed. Except for Patti, the rest have been guest performers at the place I had mentioned to you a few weeks ago, Jan - Eddie Dean, was one in a very tight knit group of 'The Valley Cowboys' which included Hank Penny, Ernie Ford, Tex Williams, and a certain fiddle player I also spoke about :). No, not Doug, the other one.
