Tommy’s video was not released.

It was discussed at his sentencing. I don’t think it will be released. It doesn’t paint the PCSO in the best light if what was discussed at his sentencing is true (regarding the video)

I’m still not on the same page as most here.
I don’t find anything that proves or even holds a strong valid argument that any family members around Haleigh are involved in her disappearance.I mean that in terms of her being physically taken. Morally it can be argued with merit that several persons played a part that set the stage for this horrific crime to happen. Also with merit it can be argued that Neglect played a part in setting the stage for this to happen. Right now LE has to find out what happened to her that night. As a parent I would need concrete evidence before I would accept and believe my child is deceased. I would not rest or give up until I had that proof. As an outsider I can’t phantom why any one would admit to being present where a crime of this nature happened if it never happened. With that said reasonable thinking is telling me there must be something to the story MC and TC are telling. I think Crystal has every right to attend any and all hearings if she likes regarding the persons who are allegedly involved in her daughter’s disappearance. No matter her mistakes she has the right to do the right thing by her child and to fight for Justice for her daughter, more so than any of us that is for sure. I think it’s sad that the families can’t get past their own short comings enough to escape them by pointing at the other one. Together they could accomplish far more in terms of searches fund raisers etc that could lead to the proof they all so desperately seek. The whole current situation is very unfortunate.

Ihave never seen the videos if they exist. There was a incident report but I cant find it, I have searched and searched. I know they met him at a poolhall and he made phone calls and then they went to McDonalds. Aguy showed up in a blck truck and Tommy went acrossed the street and got the pills. So there may not be any video, maybe just audio if the UC was wired? jmo

It is not unusual for somebody to get a new lawyer when they file an appeal. Not all lawyers are qualified to handle appeals, which is probably the case with Hope’s lawyer. What I think MAY help Hope is that regardless of what she may have said in court, she said in that tape that she did not understand. I think that will play in her favor.

While I think the judge should have sentenced her as a YO, there is no law that says he has to. I do think, however, since he did listen to that tape, he should have stopped the proceedings until Hope understood what she and her lawyer were in fact doing.

M2C, Hope has a new lawyer. The last one left after she filed the appeal. And really what could she have done different? Hope said she wouldnt do the drug rehab or the YO on the phone to her Mom. Hope went into court and agreed to the n contest plea, the Judge always askes if you understand and then you sign the plea. At this time Hope could have said no I dont understand. She tried to blame it on the lawyer, she told her Mom they were 10 steps ahead of the game, like she knew everything.
Isee her as a defiant young girl who just set her mind to what she was going to do until she got the opposite. It was a harsh sentence and I do hope she gets it reduced but I dont believe she should be released. jmo

Things are starting to move again with Tommy and Misty? I hope somebody finally said something. I wonder if perhaps this doesnt have something to do with the stories their lawyers were putting out to the media? Maybe replacing those lawyers with others? Dont know if that can be done so far into their respective cases? Im surprised both lawyers said what they did since Misty and Tommy were at the time their clients. Unbeleivable! They breached the trust. Now Im wondering if somebody isnt planning to file some sort of lawsuit against these lawyers, that is IF they can sign one or the other, Tommy or Misty, as their client? That would be a fair assumption. Sue for X amount of dollars and let the insurance company pay it. Legal malpractice.

JenM- Idisagree with you about the comparison of RC & CA. I think there are numerous similarities between them. No one was aware of Caylee being missing except Casey, in Ron’s case the disappearance couldn’t be hidden especially due to the school issue. I don’t think Crystal is much better, unless she believed the court ruling that the children were being placed with Ron as it was in their best interest.
In looking at this from hindsight all the mistakes are glaring.
I do recall some mention of a rose but not sure what it was in relation to.

Well, that is great news I think.
Also, I don’t compare RC to Casey A. She didn’t even report her child missing for 31 days and was out partying and celebrating like nothing ever happened. RC’s situation is totally different. He has to go on with his life at some point (what ever his life is) and that’s what he was doing. He was greiving. Because he is obviously addicted to drugs, does not mean he doesn’t love his children or that he is not greiving.
I think if someone called me and told me my child was missing, I wouldn’t turn over and go back to sleep and then show up on the scene 8 hours later bombed out my mind…..

Anyway, as far as MC goes…does anyone recall her saying that she remembers a “rose” (plastic/fake, I think) at a site in the woods? Is it possible that Haleigh was buried? Truly? Maybe the “thrown in the river” was said to “throw them off the real site”?? Maybe Misty was so drugged up she doesn’t remember all of it…it may be a total blur to her, especially with all the brainwashing that child has endured all her life from f’d up adults!! Sad.
Yes, maybe the fog has lifted, maybe she truly has found the Lord in her heart and is telling what she knows???
After all, sexually abused people have a different way of thinking about things and sometimes this alerts you to the fact. If a child is convinced that they will be harmed or their family will be tortured and killed, that will set in their brains and they will never tell. According to Misty, she would tell of her sexual abuse and she was not beleived, in fact, she says she was blamed herself for what happened. This is very common with the victim of abuse. Over time, it becomes a ‘learned response’ in which it does not do any good to tell anyone anything, because the blame will always come back to you.
Thus we see MC staying stoic and strong, that she will never tell, because they are just going to blame her anyway, so what’s the use? Why tell and then get blamed and have everyone hate you for telling on them? Makes no sense to an abused person. They already are trying to please everybody and have a lot of self guilt and shame, depression and low self esteem.
MC was happy when she was getting married. It not only helped her self esteem, but it let others know that no matter what has happened to her, somebody loves her and she is worth marrying, no matter how much she was sexually abused.

So, she will hold out, protect herself, and let the other person be found out, without her help!

Anyway, just some deeper thought/ideas that come to mind. A few things to ponder on the psychological side of things (which is what drives people’s actions).

I hope the court dates have meaning Tobias.

Also, when a terrible thing happens to a mobster’s child, or a dirty politician’s or a quack doctor’s or a warlord’s child, it doesn’t mean they did it or that they don’t grieve like a “normal” person would. It also doesn’t mean they suddenly and miraculously “go straight.” Maybe they should (we think) but they don’t. That would be a very rare, I think.

Robin- I was responding to another blogger who felt that the only one he/she felt would search for Haleigh was Ronald and now he is locked away. My sister’s youngest son went missing and we were all out within minutes of finding out he was missing. He was found a day later emotionally damaged but physically okay. That was the worst 37 hours of my sister’s life.
I don’t think because you have a rap sheet that you are necessarily guilty of a crime but I do think that some of the things people do put them in danger as well as innocent family members. I know from the Jessica Lunsford case that the wrong person can be looked at. As to LDT, VST etc. they are just tools but I find them no more reliable then a stressed out confession. Going on a drug run when you have one child missing and another that needs you speaks volumes to me about what is important to a person.

Alexandria–IIRC LE advised the families NOT to participate in the searches. I would not hang someone’s guilt or innocence on IF a parent searches or not. Go research the case of Jerry Hobbs (of Illinois) who found the bodies of his daughter and friend when he went searching after they were reported missing. He was wrongfully convicted (on a false confession after intense interrogations) and sent to DEATH ROW, all because the police were suspicious of the way he acted (not to mention he had a rap sheet). He was exonerated eventually, but not before the police, the public, and the media convicted him. JMO

I admire and respect that you do not appreciate people bashing Jan, your wife. My husband is the same way. If he caught me crying and found out why (like you did Jan), look out guilty party!

I read some comments on what I consider a trash site. I normally would not click on that site but I wanted to see exactly what was being said. A commenter on another site mentioned the filthy comments and I thought, “No, decent people would not do that.” Well, trash does!

I am appalled that adults use such filthy language and would post such trash for the world to see. I know they would not do that in person; not if they did not want to get a defamation of character and/or slander lawsuit filed against them.

There are some sites I will not click on because they are riddled with rumors, lies, filthy language and are what I consider trash.

Jan and Simon, I enjoy your articles and Simon, I love when you write some of your articles with a sense of humor. You are not main stream media and as an independent, you can tell it like it is!

Simon and Jan, thank you for the tremendous amount of work you put into Haleigh’s case. For example, I know it was very time consuming in converting the jail tapes so they could be made available to us on this site.

I am aware you derive no money from writing articles on the various cases. However, time spent on these cases is time you could be spending on things that you do for a living and that generates money. After all, you do have to eat and like many, you have to pay the bills!

I know you reported on the side shows to keep Haleigh’s name “out there”. Unless the maternal side of Haleigh’s family start doing some stupid, dumb things then there really is nothing to report about. The druggies on the paternal side of the family are a guest of the gray bar hotel!

I hope Haleigh is found and her case can be closed. God bless Haleigh!

Yes, a parent should not go out and put on a show that they are searching when it isn’t in there heart to do so. In many cases it would be best for the parent(s) to help behind the scenes and as they receive comfort, also comfort others in their family who may need it, like a sibling of the missing child.
I wouldn’t advise any parent to go on a drug run or out searching at Fusions.

I don’t think any parent should go out to search for their child especially when they’re searching at a time and in places where the child would obviously already be dead and when LE and volunteers are searching. I can’t imagine what it would be like if they found the child!

There are other things parents can do. And it’s fine with me if they do no more than stay home and try to cope or pray or whatever they can manage.
I can’t judge a parent for searching or not searching under these circumstances. I don’t want parents to think they have to do certain things to convince the public they’re innocent.

TM, Like your post. I was actually talking about the self imposed wanna be celebrity some people think they are. Sort of like what happened to that young woman who had all those babies at once. She sure got celebrity and what she thought herself as, turned right around and bit her. Infamous, yes. Celebrity, hardly. True solid celebrity is earned. I see nothing celebratory yet. Just a very sad story with a whiz bang side show attached, out there in the media, for all to see.

Unfortunately, I think Haleigh is being used as a springboard to further others aspirations at whatever they are trying to aspire to. Too obvious.

Can or would we be allowed to look for Haleigh or do we need someones permission to help find a missing child.

I see many people stating they would do anything to get to the bottom of this story and find out what took place.

I am sick of no one looking for Haleigh and the one person I thought for sure was would search is now locked away for many years to come.

Its a chance for some to go from bottom rung to grabbing the brass ring, and somebody in the middle has probably opened promised this, but the brass in this case is made of copper and will turn ones neck a putrid green, its more than that, much more than a possible 6 to 12 show contract with a media outlet. It is more than being promised maybe a shot at an open chair gig on one of the many programs (cough, cough) in the near future, its more than trying to get on Team (insert name of choice here) if anyone is ever formally charged for accessory or whatever to the Haleigh case. Im afraid somebody is going to try and ante up more money and try to get Misty out of jail or at least get her time cut way down. I have my own suspicions. It has absolutely nothing to do with Haleigh unfortunately, but has a lot to do with wanting, commanding absolute presence, being so cut throat to reach whatever plateau they think they are going to reach. Allocades and Celebrity is a wonderful thing, but it has to be earned to be accepted and recognized by peers.

I want so bad to spit something out that came to mind as clear as a shot, but I cannot. Some things are best left unsaid. Ill go back to sitting on my hands now.

Checking in….good posts today! I think Jill is just saying that we should not lower ourselves to Kp’s level and it serves no purpose to slam her and continually bring the subject up. It doesn’t help find Haleigh and it doesn’t help J and S feel better either. So, I agree. I think if you want to slam her, then go to ‘her site’, etc…. So, thanks for that good advice Jill, and I will keep it in mind when writing here.

Seems like money and revenge has been a common theme aside from the drugs. It also appears those drug charges and sentencing are still up in the air for the three that have been in this up to their eye balls.

I know I will be blasted for this but I feel we all need to stop with this Kim P stuff.(JMO) I don’t defend her at all and I really hate the stuff she has said about Simon/Jan…but to revel in her misfortunes makes us just as bad as her. She has kids and they will read this stuff. She and her husband have obviously made a mess of their life.

Jan/Simon - I am really not defending anything she has done to you. This is just getting all too ugly for me.

Tommy already was sentenced to 10 years drug offender probation AFTER his 15 years. Prison time is mandatory.

LookingForJustice@9:56 pm. Ronald could have made 90-strike that 98 calls with-in a twenty four hour period, but he must have an awfully long power cord for his phone or something more powerful than an energizer bunny under that battery flap. Then all that noise coming from his skip loader or whatever it was he was using at work.

Just to clarify, I meant the banter AH creates either on his blog or when hes on tv. Not the banter all of us share from time to time.

If Im not mistaken, I had heard this ‘90 phone calls’ business said in a flippant way by a Good Ol’ Boy. I dont think he started the rumor, and the tape I heard could have been edited, but said it in a way like one would say ’she used a ton of hairspray on her hair’ or ‘She used 20 lbs of make-up on her face’, it was just a figure of speech, but somebody else ran with it as fact and now it makes it as fact since its in the media? I dont think so.

Ron called Tommy at 9pm and in the link I posted LE said Tommy said he was at the mobile home about9:45pm and the home was locked and dark.
Ron says he got home at 3:24pm and the 911 call was @3:27am.

To help on the work time of Ron. Terry Shoemaker( Ron lawyer) said that Ron got to work about 4:30pm, but he was not suppose to be there until 5pm.

So lets see, an alternative timeline:

3:30 pm - 3:45 pm - someone picks Haleigh up from the bus stop (at different times TN said she picked Haleigh up at 3:30, Ron said he picked Haleigh up at 3:45, neighbors that were at the bus stop said Misty picked Haleigh up)

4:00 pm - 4:45 pm - Ron leave the MH to go to “werk”.

5:00 pm - ???? pm - Ron calls Misty upwards of 20 times.

8:30 pm - ??? pm - Ron calls Tommy

3:00 pm - Ron says he left work

5:00 pm - 3:00 pm - according to some rumors Ron was seen by different people out and about Palatka - so if we believe all rumors at some point during this time Ron actually left work and may or may not have returned.

3:35 pm - Ron says he got home from “werk”

3:37 pm - 911 call made
