BNN has been following this case from day one. Much to the consternation of some of our readers we have not taken a partisan stance. Jan sees potential good in everyone, and I see potential bad. But neither of us have declared that we know what happened. Certainly neither of us has taken the stand of ‘It must be x (fill in the name)’ that did it. Jan has her theories, and I have mine. Either of us could be right, equally, either of us could be a million miles from what actually happened that February night in Satsuma, Florida.
One thing though is crystal clear, unless this is remake of ‘Murder On The Orient Express’ there are many innocent people tied up in this story. Some are being egged on by the press, others are at their wits end. Grammy Flo (Flora Hollers) seem to revel in the fact that HLN have a wardrobe department, and for a couple of minutes she is the star. In actual fact she had little, if any contact with Haleigh Cummings. For a couple of minutes though, Grammy Flo is in the center of attention. Hey, more power to her!
Closer to the direct family are Lisa and Hank Croslin. Neither are likely candidates for the ‘Parent of the Year’ award, but, neither have been implicated in any way with the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings. However they have come under not just the press microscope, but also the ‘armchair press’.
It is hard to listen to the jail tapes between Hank Croslin and his children Misty and Tommy without taking a step back and realizing that this is a father talking to his children. It is just as hard to listen to what mother Lisa Croslin offered.
Lisa and Hank Croslin were in court Tuesday. Both faced drug charges, but they were unconnected with the drug charges surrounding Misty and Tommy Croslin.
I am also happy to explain that the ‘official’ records that certain sites have been reporting are completely false. Neither are in Daytona Beach. Hank Croslin is still in the Putnam County jail, and because there was no compelling evidence to drag Lisa Croslin into the case, she has been released.
Lisa Croslin is now in a very safe place, one that offers a buffer between her and the people that are so keen to find fault. She is bound by rules, no drugs, no booze, but she is happy.
When Lisa and Hank were picked up I asked the question of a well respected source, was this an LE Sting?
The answer was a resounding NO, these people were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
We are hoping that Lisa will give us an interview, her story is one that deserves to be told. There are also dimensions that few people understand. Her story is not BOMBSHELL or EXCLUSIVE, it is life in today’s world.
Does Lisa Croslin have a benefactor? Yes she does. But it is a person that has few material possessions, and certainly does not have a huge bank account. Both Jan and I admire this person that is willing to go this extra mile.
It is easy to find fault, it is much harder to offer help.

Ha, well I guess I had it right to begin with that Lisa was indeed out. I’m glad she has a place to stay. There is no need for her to be on the street.
I totally agree with this statement, “It is easy to find fault, it is much harder to offer help.”
It is easy to sit at my computer and type whatever comes to mind, but actually doing something to help is not so easy.
I can contribute money to help Lisa’s benefactor and would like very much to do so. Please let me know if it would be acceptable and where I can send my contribution to help Lisa. She has been dealt a hard life and I cannot judge her for turning to drugs.
vaquera, You are right, Lisa does not need to be on the street. If I recall correctly she and Hank got married when she was 16 and he was 17. To me, that says that neither of them had great parents or a safe place to live and were searching for someone to love and a better life. Just from what I have seen of Flo, Lisa didn’t have anyone to teach her mothering skills.
It didn’t all work out the way they had hoped, but I do not think either of them are evil people, rather victims of the awful sickness of addiction. I hope Lisa can get clean and help her grandchildren break the cycle.
Thanks for the article.
I am glad that Lisa has somewhere safe to be. God Bless the benefactor who has made this possible.
It is nice to know that there are still people out there with an open heart. I pray Lisa and Hank both get the help they need.
Jane Valez-Mitchell is on. She will cover Haleigh Cummings . . . what grandma has to say. They showed a picture of Teresa Neves. I assume they meant Teresa.

Hi Ann,
I think they will probably cover what Teresa said in her interview yesterday morning with News4Jax.
I’ll put a link to the interview Teresa did in my next post in case anyone missed it.

Simon,an Jan,i truly like the way this artical was worded. You did an good job.An thank you so much for the update on Lisa.
I give my greatest thanks to whoever stepped forward,to help Lisa.God will truly bless those who see past the sins,an see the person who is in need of help.An extends a hand to help.
I wish all could have got help before it went as far as it has.
I completely disagree. Words are merely words tell your kids not to do drugs and then do them. Tell them to be honest, loyal, and caring and then be vindictive, manipulating, and dishonest. Words are merely words and by their actions I don’t believe a word they say.
Thanks for the update, I hope Lisa’s benefactor is not taken advantage of.
I hope Lisa’s benefactor is in the form of someone who can offer her drug rehab.
Also, is this case solved? Is this a done deal? Is JO being interrogated non-stop? I haven’t heard anything on him.
I was hoping Lisa would remain in jail. She’s not been incarecated long enough to get the drugs out of her system. An addict can be in jail/prison 2 or more years but most as soon as they’re released some start looking for drugs once again. I pray for the person who has taken on the responsibilty of Lisa, and not be her enabler. Lisa and only Lisa can change her lifestyle.
Very well put judithan, I totally agree.
Hi Lady.. I agree as well with you and Judithan… Lisa needs rehab.. and so does Hank Sr.. Misty and Tommy and Ronald are all getting it now, where they want it or not….
My heart breaks when I see these people again and again.. Pete and RePeat…
this should be Lisa’s last chance, though… if she makes it through this, she can make it! Also needs to work on her GED… then hopefully she could get some sort of employment. Maybe they should just leave Florida all together???
THANKS Simon and Jan for this little item.. Would’t it be awesome if she could be a guest on a Sunday afternoon CHAT show? I know we all have tons of questions and lots of us are all about giving second chances…. we could easily have Lisa’s back if she straightens her life out.
What a treat, this little corner of the caring world. I hope that Lisa gets the help that she needs and deserves and that realizes the strength and fortitude that she truly has.

Hope lisa takes the help and treats it in the manner in which it is being offered and not waste it 3 months down the line with a ‘rock’ or two.

Whether Misty and Ron get any kind of rehab or not will depend on which prison they are sent to.
TC was sent to Franklin CI and they have no substance abuse program there, unless one was started recently.
I also have felt sorry for Lisa and I hope she can clean up her life. However, the fact remains that she was arrested on theft charges. Whether she did this to support a drug habit is unknown. I would be wary of providing support to anyone that I did not know their true character. Some people just steal because they can.
Thank you , Thank you Simon and Jan for one happy note in this case of abundant tragedies,Hopefully Lisa can take this opportunity to begin again and change her life, True change is always possible and wonderful. Sobriety is such a gift, I hope she can give it to herself, it is something that you can be guided and inspired by others but at the end of the day it is a choice that only she can make , I will be praying for her
For Lisa to become an asset to society she must first want to..I hope the benefactor is encouraging her to go to school..There is financial help available for her (Pell Grant) if she wants it..It’s never to late to get an education. Not only will it build self esteem, but allow her to take care of herself financially down the road..If she has to work during the day to pay off her fines, she can go to night school for a trade..I think every drug users life is salvageable, but as I said, she must first want to..Psychological counseling may be in order to get her on track.I wish her the best…
WhyLie, Lisa and Hank Sr. have never been know been off drugs/alcohol for any lenght of time from what I’ve read or see on TV. If I’m wrong I will be the first one to admit it. The younger group seems to be raised into addiction. You can put them all in extensive rehab but unless they want to change they won’t. I do think that the prison system would profit from sending them to rehab then aftercare. It won’t be positive for all but if you save a few it’s a benefit to the state, their family and the citizens. Under the influence of drugs addicts will do “anything” for more drugs. I pray the states put into place drug programs for addicts.

Maybe someone can clarify/verify this….
Wasn’t Misty the one who was seen “carrying a black plastic bag” down to the river bank at her Mom and Dad’s? Hmmmm.
Here a nice drug bust from down there

My point was that they are incarcareted and they have no choice except to dry out and will not be getting drugs and or alcohol on a daily basis in jail/prison. I understand there is no “rehab” involved except being forced to dry out with no chance to “party.”
Wondering if this benefactor was able to arrange for Lisa to get into a drug rehab/treatment center or is having Lisa live in his/her home thinking they will be able to control and stop Lisa from using drugs?
ilove, I guess it bothers me that somebody would admit to the courts he has been using drugs since he was 12, be sentenced to 15 years for drugs, and then be sent to a CI that has no drug abuse program.
And drugs are available in prison on pretty much a regular basis if an inmate wants them. They may physically dry out but I think it would serve the public much better in the long run if addicts were given some form of drug treatment while they are serving their time. It just makes more sense to me.
Per Simon: “It is easy to find fault, it is much harder to offer help.”

Kudos and prayers to Lisa and whoever is helping her in whatever way. God bless you both.
WhyLie@ 6:58am
I agree. And it seems deliberately cruel. Shameful in fact. I don’t know how we can expect people to change their ways or their attitudes when we condone treating them like this.
I think Lisa all her life might have suffered from self esteem problems. The woman was married at a young age and had children when basically she was a child herself. She is uneducated and has probably lived pillar to post. She does need extensive counseling and rehab and I hope she gets both. I pray this is her way to recovery and thank God that someone decided to take a chance on her. With just herself to worry about, I think she has a fighting chance. I will be rooting for her, because sometimes someone showing you enough care to to take a risk (whether it be her second, third, fourth chance) may be the motivation she needs to want a new beginning and become clean and sober, and become the woman and mother she can and should be. God bless the person who was willing and able to change the way Lisa might view herself and show a path that might lead to a more productive life. I hope for a good outcome! JMO
I think it is a good thing for somebody to open their heart and do what they can to help Lisa. Lisa has an opportunity to show her children that their lives can change, that things can be different, that they can beat addiction.
I don’t need the details of who or how somebody has chosen to help Lisa. Just knowing there is somebody out there willing to help, successful or not, is what matters. Blessings to who ever has opted to show Lisa kindness and offer her a hand up.

“Ron Cummings May Take Plea Deal In Court Today”
The article states the hearing is 11 a.m.
That is EDT. It would be 10 a.m. CDT.
Hopefully, New4Jax or First Coast will post a video later.
Maybe Jan & Simon have “someone on the ground” attending and they will be able to post an ‘eye witness’ report!
I’m relieved to know that Lisa is getting some help. I just assumed she’s go to Mass. with Timmy. My heart always went out to Lisa and Hank Sr. Sure, they have problems but all this crap with their kids could not have helped much.
I think Hank Sr. should be released also.
On another note does anyone know who “Talent” is? On the jail videos Misty kept asking for Talent to visit her or write her and I’ve never heard who he is. You are all so knowledgeable on this case I thought one of you might know.
I wonder what he may know?

Ron ‘s plea deal was accepted:
http://www.news4jax.com/news/24700021/detail.html
PALATKA, Fla. — The father of missing girl Haleigh Cummings pleads guilty to three of five drug trafficking charges against him and agreed to testify in any future trial involving the disappearance of his daughter.
Video: Ronald Cummings To Plead
Cummings, along with his ex-wife, Misty Cummings, her brother, Hank Croslin Jr., and two other people were arrested after an undercover drug sting by St. Johns and Putnam County detectives. Misty Cummings and Croslin have pleaded no contest to charges. Croslin received a 15-year sentence and Cummings faces sentencing in October.
All three are central figures in the disappearance of Ronald Cummings’ 5-year-old daughter in February 2009. After an Amber Alert, weeks of exhaustive searching and an investigation involving more than 4,000 leads, Haleigh remains missing. In May, the Putnam County sheriff said she is likely dead.
An Amber Alert was issued Feb. 10, 2009, for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings

Tour Of Satsuma Home Where Haleigh Disappeared
Earlier this week, attorneys for both Misty Cummings and Tommy Croslin said their clients have told investigators a similar story of what happened the night Haleigh disappeared, and said a Croslin cousin who lives in Tennessee placed the screaming girl in a black bag and took her from Cummings’ mobile home.
That cousin, Joe Overstreet, has been questioned at least twice by detectives, but never charged or named a suspect in Haleigh’s case.
Channel 4′s Tarik Minor was in the courtroom for the hearing. This story will be updated throughout the afternoon, with full reports on the local station beginning at 5 p.m.
All I can say is, there is no prison in Florida big enough for TC to hide in now that Ron will be heading that way.
Another article:

WhyLie, maybe that’s why TC looks like just a shell of a man now.
There was apparently some sort of “scene” outside the Courthouse this morning involving Lisa, Crystal and Marie. Lisa was standing at/near the bus stop, and Crystal and Marie were spotted pointing and waving in her direction.
(You can read about that on TJ’s article on SKY news)
