Eric Preimesberger last spoke with his mother on April 20, 2010 on his wedding anniversary. His mother says Eric was upbeat, happy, and excited about moving his family to Eugene Oregon. He planned on starting a new business with his brother-in-law, Tim Morgan. Eric is the father of two small children.
In emails from Eric’s mother, Kay Wilson, she told me about the phone call saying she could hear the kids in the background. She even talked to her granddaughter who was excited about moving but she was sad about leaving her friends and her school. Kay talked with her son about a little house he found near a park in a neighborhood called “Walnut Groveâ€. She said when she started laughing he asked what was so funny about where his new house was going to be. She explained through her tears and laughter that Walnut Grove is the town where the TV series “Little House on the Prairie†was filmed which had Eric laughing as much as his mother was.
She tells me that she told him that she was so proud of him for wanting to start his own business although she was sorry it would take him so far from home and his response was for her not to worry and she could always fly into Portland and they could just pick her up. She told her son how much she loved him and in return he told her “I love you too Mom, talk to you soon.â€
Little did she know that it would be this long without hearing his voice again. He has been missing for 107 days and as it stands she isn’t sure that she will ever hear his voice again. For any mother, this is heart breaking. His family continues praying that he will come home soon and they pray for Eric’s wife, Kristi and Eric’s children, Ivy and Damien.
Kristi told the investigators that she and Eric had a fight and he took off. She made the move to Oregon on her own a short time after he disappeared. She was living in Eugene Oregon with her brother but now the neighbors are saying that everyone has moved out of the brother’s house.
The Reno police have requested the help from Eugene’s police since Kristi has crossed over the state line. They have located a storage pod that Kristi was paying for in Eugene. Once they got a search warrant they brought in the cadaver dogs who apparently hit on the scent of human remains near the pod and also on some dead flowers left behind in the pod.
Hearing this news has Kay really worried about her son. She says it is very odd that he hasn’t called her by now. She says she just wants her boy back. She makes a plea out to her daughter-in-law, Kristi.
“Kristi, bring the babies to our home you know we will welcome you all with open arms, or go to your mothers I know it would thrill her to pieces and let’s get this all sorted out, cleared up, get you and the kids in a safe and secure environment, and get Eric home.â€
Eric is 30 years old. He is described as a white male, about 5ft. 6 in. tall and he weighs about 165 lbs. Kay said that there are unofficial flyers of Kristi and the kids out requesting anyone to please help them find this family and bring them home.
Kay has spoken with Detective Myers and he would appreciate it if the media could keep getting photos out of Eric and list him as a missing and endangered adult. His disappearance is under suspicious circumstances and anyone with information can contact Detective Myers at the Reno Nevada Police Department directly by calling 775-657-4801. The case # is 10-13551 or you can just give him Eric’s full name. If you would prefer to call in and remain anonymous you can call Secret Witness in Reno at 775-322-4900 using the same case #10-13551 or you can go to secretwitness.com online and give what information that you might have.
There is a lot more to this story so Simon and I plan to have Kay Wilson as a guest on our radio show soon. We will announce it as soon as we can set up a date. We would like to help her get the word out so maybe someone can help her fin d her son. All she wants is to find him. She is yet another mother desperately searching for her child. I don’t care how old they are, once you give birth to a child you will love them forever and you will fight to keep them safe. Please help us help Kay by passing the word along and the photos as well.
A Facebook page has been setup for Eric. You can find it by clicking here. My prayers are with Kay Wilson and her family. I will keep praying that they will find Eric soon and he is returned home. God bless you Kay and your family.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackJan – one of the photos is covering up the print so I can’t read all of the story. From what I could read this is very heartbreaking and very suspicious. I’m curious how Eric’s mom feels about Krisit. Since it was Kristi’s storage unit that the dogs hit on and now she and her brother have moved from where they are living, do we know where they are now? Seems a bit strange they would be basically “on the run” and out of contact with Eric’s family. Sort of screams “GUILTY” to me.
My prayers are with Eric’s mother and family. I hope they find answers soon.
I’m thrilled to see this story here and look forward to a radio show with Kay. She is a sweet woman living with very difficult circumstances, but still finds the strength to fight for the truth about her son. JB, Kay will probably comment here herself to answer what questions she can. She is limited somewhat as to what she can disclose about the investigation, but she can be the judge of what she can share.
Prayers for Kay and her family to receive word soon about Eric and his little ones.
Hi, my name is Kay and I am Eric’s mom. I am speaking to law enforcement about doing this radio intervieiw. Not that they can tell me kno to do something, or to do it. it is more is this whatt is going to put Eric’s story out there and not hinder the investigation by me saying something that should have been held back, so when they do get someone in a room and say this happened or did not happen then they can know for sure the answer they get is from that person and not something they heard or read somewhere. I put an explaination that I got from the detective on what the word murder means to us and then what it means to law enforcement also what other words we banndy around without knowing what they really mean to those who do this for a living. I guess that is some of the downfalls of all the Law and Orders and CSI shows there are. We as a society want it all to be solved in an hour like on TV and it just is not so, as both Christy Ragas, and I both know all too well. I hope to speak to her soemtime in the future and I hope the very near future. You all speak of our strength, that you just don’t know where it comes from….as for me it comes from my belief in God and his son and what they promise me as a future for both my son and myself and the rest of my family. We find that strenght from that “mommy” place she is right, fathers feel a pain unimaginable when a cild goes missing, but a mother Feels A “SPECIAL” pain, we knew that life 9 months before any of you knew who they were. We know that little life long before we even share it with others, or at least I did. So Christy I have reluctantly joined your club that no parant ever wants to join. Ask Janny and she will provide you with my phone number if you want it. I guess if for no other reason than to hear the words” I know how you feel” and know that the person on the other end really does know what your pain is. No matter how much our friends want to help, they cannt enter into that place where your heart is in tatters and you are still trying to do the day to day things for the rest of your family. God Bless and keep you and for the rest of you,,,,,, There but for the Grace Of God goes you!
I almost forgot to put up Zachery D. Pittman’s name aka Christy Ragas’s son. I will pray for all of us to find our babies no matter what their age.
JB I adjusted the size of the picture. Is it better now? It was OK on my monitor before so I didn’t know it was too big anywhere else.
God bless you Kay, my prayers are with you as they are with Christy. I pray that Zachary and Eric are found soon.

Hi, Jan!
A very special thank you to you and Simon for covering Eric Preimseberger’s case.
Thank you for the beautiful and informative article – very well written! Also, it was so nice you included the pictures. What a handsome young man with a beautiful family!
I hope that Kay will be able to be on your show real soon. Like Christy Ragas, I know there will be questions that Kay will not be allowed to answer and she will have to be careful what she can say per Detective Myers.
May God bless you and Simon for giving this case some exposure. Like Zachary Pittman’s case, it has not had any significant exposure.
Through the efforts of Valhall, owner of The Hinky Meter, and the many supporters of Kay on that site, there was some TV coverage, regarding Eric’s case, in Oregon last week and news articles.
I know BNN has a huge Radio Show audience. It would be wonderful if Kay could be on as a guest! The article you wrote will give Eric’s case a lot of exposure world-wide.
Jan, you are so kind hearted! You and Simon are awesome!
I pray that Kay and Christy Ragas can bring their sons home real soon! I can understand how they feel but I don’t even know how they feel. Only Kay and Christy know the heartache and the devastation of having a “missing” son.
Special thoughts and prayers to Kay and Christy Ragas and their families!

Hi, Kay!
Thank you for taking the time to come here and comment on this site and share your thoughts with us.
I am so happy that Jan and Simon Barrett are covering your son’s case (Eric). This site has a lot of readers and folks that comment here. Their readership is in the thousands.
I hope you will be able to be on the Sunday Radio Show, which has a huge listening audience, real soon.
This is so wonderful that you will be getting so much exposure about Eric, his wife and your missing grandchildren.
I do hope that you and Christy connect. Both of you have unique circumstances in common and I think it would be so good for both of you to be able to talk to one another. There are a lot of circumstances in both cases that are similar. Only you and Christy know what it is like to have sons that are missing.
Kay, both you and Christy are very strong and are determined to find your sons and bring them home. I know both of you will never give up. I hope Eric and Zach are found real soon!
God bless both of you . . . loving mothers and grandmothers. Both of you have small grandchilren . . .the children of Eric and the child of Zach!
Per Kay, Eric’s mom, Detective Myers updated the info on Eric Preimseberger on the City of Reno, Nevada’s official web page.
Per Kay, he told her to post the Link anywhere and every where. Get it to as many folks as possible!
Please feel free to post the Link, send it to your friends and ask them to send it to their friends, post it on blogs, etc.
Kay would really appreciate your help!

Hi, Katfish!
All I did was provide Jan’s e-mail to Val and then I guess Kay told her story to Jan.
So really, Kay’s heartfelt story about Eric is what got Jan to do this beautiful article on Eric.
I am so happy that Jan and Simon agreed to cover this story. Just think of how much more additional exposure Eric will get!
Katfish, how do you make a smiley on BNN? I see Smiley’s in articles sometimes but I don’t see where they are located on this site.
Also, I listen to the Radio Show on Sundays. Are you the same Katfish on the Live Chat? I don’t post on Live Chat but I like to read the comments (except for the rude ones)! It moves fast! Sometimes it makes me dizzy. LOL
If Kay is a guest on a Sunday Show, I might sign up for Live Chat. I tried one time but I could not get on. I might have to have Jan’s help to get on.
Ann – Tx, I know you asked Katfish, but hope you don’t mind that I answered first about making smilies. Here is a link that will show the codes for smilies on this (worpress) site.

Jan, Thank you for the article about Eric, I had not heard about him being missing and with Reno being just a couple hours drive away it is heart breaking to know that more media hasn’t covered it! It is wonderful that both you and Simon give a voice to all the missing, young & old, across our nation! I pray for a quick resolution in this case and as always the family of Zach & now Eric are in my prayers.
We, as a community, need to do more about staying alert to predators and domestic violence in our communities. It is so easy for many to turn a blind eye in a situation because they feel it’s a family matter. But it affects all of us and especially the young children who are left behind. Thank you again, Jan, for the article.

Jan + Simon just wanted to second Alex on your commitment to children of all ages. We’re all some ones baby. Kay hope that in time you will connect with Christy to share your mutual sittiuation and brainstorm what works and what doesn’t to aid the search. As posted above this site has many dedicated readers. Simon and Jan are as Willie Nelson says “angles flying close to the ground”.

Beautiful comment. You are only two hours away!

Which are the top two stations for the area?
Thank you in advance, Alex!
No problem and you are welcome Ann-Tx.

The Eric Preimseberger case will be discussed this Sunday, 8-8-10 on the Simon Barrett Radio Show on BNN – BlogTalk Radio at 3 p.m. CDT.
It is expected that Eric’s mom, Kay, and Valhall of The Hinky Meter will be guests.

I don’t know why I should be surprised when people “disappear” but I am. So Eric’s wife and children have vanished, too? There were dead flowers in a storage pod, plus the scent of human remains nearby? This is in Oregon? But he is supposed to have disappeared in Nevada, and the family moved later? My head is spinning.
Husband and wife have a fight before they’re supposed to move to another state. He walks off never to be seen again. Wife and kiddies make the move, now they are inaccessible. Suspicious.
I’ll listen to the show Sunday. I hope you can shed more light, Jan & Simon.
Hello Ann-Tx,
I am really looking forward to Kay and Val being on the radio show this week.
Have you registered with Blog talk radio? If you do, when you sign in and select play/chat on Simon’s page you should be listed by name on chat. If you don’t register you will be listed as guest. There is also a box on the lower right of the page that says “chat with” and lists various radio shows that are playing. I’ve had to use that option to get chat when I listen on my default player.(media player)There is an ignore button for those who are rude. I like that, then they don’t ruin my experience.
Yes, I am the same katfish as on chat when the radio show is on, I have called in a few times. Katfish is the only username I go by online, although if I sign in on wordpress instead of blogger, I’m katfish57 🙂
I’m really glad LadySadie answered about those smileys. I bookmarked that link. Before I became so busy with my blog, I used to spend more time here at BNN (early in the Caylee case)at one time I had a short list with some of the smileys that worked here.I probably still do somewhere. LOL
I try and stop by here once a week,I don’t always comment.I have BNN on my blogroll. I’ve been battling a sinus infection and trying to catch up on preserving the garden. I have tons of tomatoes and basil ready right now. Lucky for me they are easy to deal with. I freeze the tomatoes and make pesto from the basil and freeze it too…..it’s just the quantity. TTYS

I’m sure with Kay and Val on this weeks BNN BTR show they will shed more light on the case;however,if you want to learn more before then, just click on my name. I have more info about Eric’s case at my “pond” and a link to The Hinky Meter’s coverage as well.
Hello, Katfish!
Thank you for taking the time to respond to me.
Yes, I am registered! I did it this afternoon. I went on the Tommy Croslin – 15 yr. sentence thread (that is where every one was posting) and asked for help on how to get on Live Chat.
ilove… and Vaquera gave excellent instructions but I could not find the right page where I could click on Register! I e-mailed Jan and she sent me step-by-step instructions. It was a piece of cake! Easy and simple! I felt like a dummy that I could not find the right page!
So . .. . I’m a “member” and my nic is “Ann-Tx”.
I watch Live Chat while I listen to the show and you all have a fun time. Thanks for the info about Live Chat and hitting the ignore button.
Live Chat is so fast! I’ll probably be left in the dust. I’ve got my fingers ready for some fast typing tomorrow and no spell checking! Last week when I lost sound I saw on the Chat that someone suggested to go to Media Player and I did. I had my speakers plugged in and the sound was so clear and sharp on Media Player.
Now I only post here and at Val’s (The Hinky Meter). I use only Ann-Tx.
I really do like your site. Very interesting. I have been real busy this week but I saved the Link to your site in my Favorites and I want to spend some time reading there.
You did an awesome job of writing the article on Eric.
I live between Houston and Austin, Tx. We’ve been under a high pressure. It has been very hot with a heat index of 108 – 110! I’ve had sinus problems all week. High pressure does affect my sinus problems. But, I keep on truckin’.
If you don’t mind my asking, what state are you from? I’ve seen you on Chat often and I thought with the nic “Katfish” I wondered if you are from Mississippi, Louisiana or maybe Florida.
Yes, I looked everywhere for the Smiley’s on BNN and finally I asked. It was very nice of LadySadie to share the Link to the Smiley’s. I did not know one could make a smiley that way. I’m not computer savvy at all and have a lot to learn.
Well, Katfish, nice chatting with you! I’ll see you on the Live Chat! It will be a great show tomorrow! 🙂
Hi Jan,
Thank you so much for the article. You explained a lot in such a short article, and as always, it was heartfelt and so well done.
I am glad you will be picking up this case. All missing person cases touch my heart, but a mother missing her adult child just scares me. I just feel like LE doesn’t, and won’t give it the attention it deserves. With children that are growing, I can’t imagine what I would do, and my heart goes out to these mothers (Kay and Christy) and the countless other parents that are nameless only due to lack of coverage.
I hate to say how hinky this all sounds. How could the wife just up and leave the area her husband disappeared from? How could she not stay and search? Does she have family in the area to help support her and the children? The dogs hitting in her storage area… well, that is just horrifying. I will be looking forward to learning more about the case!
Kay,
Thank you for joining us here at the BNN family. I hope you will feel welcomed and feel some small measure of comfort here.
There are many talented researchers here, and I hope that somehow we can help you out, even if it is only helping to “spread the word” about your son, Eric.
To start, do you have Facebook pages/groups, for your son that we can join?
HUGS & PRAYERS to your family!

Hi, J!
So nice of you to take the time and post on Eric’s thread and show your support for Kay. I know she will be grateful and will appreciate your interest in her son, Eric’s, case.
Kay, posts here when she can and uses the nic, Eric’s mom.
For your info, Kay, Eric’s mom, and Karen, Kristi’s (Eric’s wife) mom live in New Mexico.
Kristi’s brother was living in Eugene, Oregon.
Kristi and the 2 children, Ivy and Damion, are on the run. Tim, Kristi’s brother, went to Reno, Nevada to help Eric and family pack the pod for the move to Eugene. Kristi stayed with her brother for a brief while, went to Washington state and stayed with Eric’s stepsister (I think) for maybe 3 weeks and left and was suppose to go to her mother’s (Karen). No one has seen Kristi, the kids or Tim since. At least that is what family members are saying.
If I have any of this incorrect, family members please correct. Thanks!
J, did you read the 6:05 p.m. comment by Kay, Eric’s mom? Very beautiful and heartfelt!

you said, “If you don’t mind my asking, what state are you from? I’ve seen you on Chat often and I thought with the nic “Katfish” I wondered if you are from Mississippi, Louisiana or maybe Florida.”
I live in West-Central IL, only about 35 miles from the good ole Mississippi River so yeah I have encountered many a catfish, but “katfish” is actually derived from parts of my legal name 🙂
[…] The program kicked off with a new case that we have just hear about. A missing Reno, Nevada man Eric Preimesberger. There are more twists and turns on this case than an Alpine road. Jan and I did launch it at the panel as a surprise, no one had any chance to research it before we went on air. The ideas put forward were solid. And I do hope everyone will help us get some leads. A good place to start is Jan’s article. […]

Thanks Katfish! We have a major Texas river on our property. It ends in the Gulf of Mexico.
In my lifetime, I’ve eaten many fried catfish. I love fried catfish!!! I thought your nic had something to do with catfish! LOL
Katfish, you did an awesome job talking about Eric yesterday. Some Hinksters left you messages on The Hinky – Eric’ thread! Check it out it you have not already done that.
Kay got you and I confused last night. She sent me an e-mail thanking me for the awesome job I did on the Radio Show yesterday. I e-mailed her back and told her I did not call in that you called in. I think she accidentally hit my name by mistake. She has my legal name.
I hope she sent the e-mail to you. You did an outstanding job on the article you wrote on
7-26-10 (I think that is the correct date).
I love the Live Chat! I could not keep up with the reading though. It was moving so fast. By the time I would type something and post it, whoever I was talking to were way at the top. It is fun! In a couple of weeks, I should have the hang of it!
