Excellent article.

When the government decides the best way to save money spent by the government through Medicare/Medicaid is to stop spending it on old people rationalizing they have less QALYs left than the young even though these very programs were designed to care for the elderly who obviously need the care which led to the development of the programs in the first place, we have not only destroyed the good and humane work of our recent forebearers who wished to ensure that all Americans would be able to live out their lives in a semblance of safety and security, we have also thrown away our humanity by granting our executive branch the powers of a god in determining not only life and death, but a person's worthiness to life.

Once upon a time, Logan's Run seemed a complete fantasy, but here we are 40 years later and it is coming true.

Nancy,

Good article. Both business leaders and progressives want rationing. Why won't they just leave us alone? I know the answer to that: money and power.

We have a saying in the "low intensity conflicts" where I make my living: "There are no innocent parties."

Seems to fit in the government health care debate.

Keep up the good work.
