It is all too easy to pontificate from far away on crime cases. It is a very different world when you put your feet on the ground, or in this case swamp. BNN does not have a large travel budget, in fact the last time I checked it was exactly $zero! So when the opportunity to actually spend some time not only in the area, but with some of the family involved, I jumped on it.
I learned a great deal today, much I cannot share yet, but some I can.
It was rumored less than an hour after we left the area that two Sheriffs vehicles were cruising the area that we had been seen in. This might have been coincidental, but it seems unlikely. I suspect we ruffled some feathers today. We did take a spin though down town Pearl River, alas we missed the photo op of snapping a picture of the Police Headquarters and the Town Hall. They share the same fairly frugal building.
My mission was not to rile up either the Sheriffs or the Pearl River police. But I have received an email with a cell phone number to call!
Few people have a real understanding of just how difficult it is to search for a missing person when swamps are involved. Our first port of call was a pond. But I use that term loosely. It is hard to believe that this is actually 20 feet deep. Could Zach’s backpack be in here?
After the grand tour of Pearl River we headed for the house that Zach was last seen at. The patio doors, are the doors that he supposedly left though.
This is an area that is hardly on any regular bus route. It is a bit of a hike to anywhere. There are lots of fine examples of real estate, one wonders why they have not been snapped up.
We also encountered some people possibly connected with the case, I’ll save that photo for the future! We did the only sensible thing, and booked it out of Dodge!
Our next stop was an to two area’s that everyone seems to agree might be the where Zachary Pittman might be. It has not been searched, and for that reason I will not reveal the locations. One I feel is doubtful, it is too much work to get to. It took us at least 10 minutes to hike into it in broad daylight! Snakes, spiders, gators, a regular Disney World!
The second location holds a great deal more promise. It is accessible by car, and it would be a perfect location.
If nothing else, enjoy the photo’s, they are best viewed from the comfort of your computer. The real deal is not nearly so enchanting!
This is not an area that you would want to go camping in.

I promised them they were on my list of things to do…I do not plan on disappointing them. I did mention I wasn’t as nice as my sister! I’m sure they can’t wait. Thanks Rob and Simon for doing what you are doing. I do hope we find what we’re looking for. But thanks anyway.
Hopefully you have lit a fire under LE in that area. The pictures are great they capture the ruralness of the area and leave one with the impression of how difficult it is to manuever around there. This young man deserves to get the attention of those in the county who are suppose to protect and serve. They need to step up to the plate, inform the family of what they have been doing and/or tell them what they intend to do. Then they need to do it. They have let this case go cold and it’s time to heat it up!

Oh but the swamp is exactly where I love to camp. I am at home with the snakes and the gators. The occasional wild hog and deer make for nice company. The big banana spiders also put on quite a show. They patiently wait for their prey to stumble into the web. Then they quickly make short work of the catch. It’s all quite interesting actually.
Very interesting Simon,an Jan. Prime spots to dump a body.It baffling to me.That Zackary has been missing all this time,an none of these spots have been searched.
His ,other says they were close,keeping in touck every day.He has a child/children.An he for sure hasnt contacted these who love him,in all this time.
What part of foul play doesnt LE understand there.No one just dissapears unless something foul has happened.
The back pack you were speaking of.What was supposed to have been in it.An why would you think it may be in that looked like a dump spot to me,where the water was suppose to be 20 feet deep.If im viewing the pic in the right order.

An was the dirt road in pic the one Zack was supposed to have been walking down?As the woman he was to meet claimed.
Anything could have happened.Hecould have left with her.Or someone could have snatched him in a car.but it a fact hes gone,an his Mother,an child need anwsers.
Keep pushing ,im so happy you got to make the trip,an give us insite to what the area looks like.For people like me that dont know much,im trying to gather imfo from you,an others who post here,who know about the case.The fact that people were taking down the flyers that were being put out.Made me think someone doesnt want this comming to the light.

I have a son OMG i cant even think of how i would feel if he had been missing this long. It must be devistating,for those who love Zackary.

GET ON THE HUMP DIG DEEP NO MATTERS WHOS INVOLVED!!! THERES A LAW AGAINST MURDER/Zackery didnt just go poof into thin air!!!!
Those pictures tell only a small portion of the story of those swamps. I talked myself out of volunteering to search because I don’t get along with mosquitoes (allergies), alligators, snakes, and other swamp creatures, not to mention the murky waters, the grasses (allergies again), and the downright spookiness of the swamp. I don’t mind woods, but swamps, ick.
Now if there is something else I can do, I’d be more than happy to accommodate, as I don’t live very far away. Ruffling feathers, I can do. Having a showdown with STPSO would be a pleasure, although I’m sure that’s not needed, but a little nudging could work wonders. :::wink:::

Yes I know who Tim Miller is, I have not contacted Tim Miller yet. I was waiting becaues I am working with a search team here, I dont want to disregard them. They have gone out their way to help me and my family. When he can no longer help me then I will move forward and reach out to other sources. I appreciate the info and concern. Christy, I did not realize that you were working with a local search team, I misunderstood and thought you were organizing the searches yourself.
You are correct not to disregard the local search team. Our locals here know more than anyone else can ever know about this area and what it takes to reach some of these spots.
