A missing child alert has been issued by the Florida Law Enforcement for Meliek Simmons. Although no definite details have been released yet the boy is considered missing/endangered.
Meliek is only three years old. He is described as a black male and he stands 3 ft. tall and weighs 50 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Meliek was last seen in Orlando around noon Saturday in the area of 5300 Block of Moxie Blvd. and he was last seen wearing a gray shirt with gray and red plaid shorts. He was wearing flip-flops.
It has been reported that Meliek’s uncle, Calvin Reed was babysitting the child but was never given permission to take him. The police have reason to believe that Meliek may be with his uncle. Reed is a black male and he stands 5 ft. 11 in, tall. He weighs 210 lbs and his head is bald. The two may be traveling in a 1996 tan Sierra Oldsmobile with Florida State tag W461PK. According to other reports Reed lived with Meliek’s mother and his maternal grandmother.
Please be on the lookout for Meliek Simmons especially if you live in the Orlando area. I would hate to see this child harmed in any way. He should be returned to his family. At this point he might not even understand why he is away from his home. I pray he will be soon. If Calvin Reed would by some chance see this article please return this child to his home, I am sure that there is nothing this precious child could have done to be taken away from his home. Please return him safely and unharmed. May God be with little Meliek.

UPDATE: The Missing Child Alert has been canceled for Meliek Simmons. He has been found safe. He was with his uncle, who was apparently on his way to buy crack cocaine. The mother said her brother has never done anything like this before. An officer noted that Maliek was dirty and he smelled of urine but physically the boy was OK. Thank God for that!

Gosh… prayers already for this little guy.. hopefully this is still within a close 24 hour period and he will be returned back home. Jan, is this suspicious at this point? Just wondering if there are cell phone records, conversations, etc?
I’ve started thinking that about Florida after the Anythony case came out, it seemed as though FL. started having a flurry of kids missing or killed.

They are innocent little creations of God. They rely on those that care for them, they know no others. YOU CARETAKERS are their lifeline! If you are not capable of showing them a healthy, caring, loving environment than give them up for adoption!!! Your SELFISH desire to indulge in harmful behavior will only HURT them!! If you chose to hurt yourself than leave them out of it!! They deserve a decent life, to be loved and protected from harm.
I don’t know how this little boy ended up on a drug run with Uncle Reed but someone needs to get him out of that environment. Crack and children do not mix!!

So am I to understand the parent(s) left this beautiful child with an uncle who just happens to be a crackhead and who may have taken the child on a drug run and hasn’t returned from the drug run? Is that correct?
Charge the parent(s) with child endangerment for leaving their child with a crackhead. FIND the crackhead and get this baby back and place him in child protective custody. He OBVIOUSLY doesn’t need to be left with these people.
Praying this baby is found safe and sound! I think Florida has some SERIOUS issues! Everyday there is a new story of a missing or murdered child out of that state!
The child is alright, he was just out on a drug buy with his uncle. What is wrong with this picture? OMG. So his mother and his grandmother left him in the care of a drug addict and didn’t give said drug addict permission to take the child “shopping”? Not only does the uncle need investigating, so do the two women. First place to check is inside their heads to see if they have functioning brains, which I doubt. What is wrong with parents???
