The crap just keeps getting deeper and deeper in the Haleigh case. I anxiously await the transcripts from those tapes and cd’s. I keep trying to pick up on something that answers the questions we all have as to what happened and when and where as well as the location of Haleighs body. I wonder if they will ever find that baby or if she is totally gone. Hell has a special place for those who harm innocent children and I know there are some new reservations waiting there now. It takes an animal to harm a child in any way and there is no definitive word to describe anyone who would murder a baby. Whichever person did this deserves an excrutiating execution and no needle in the arm is good enough for them. They do not need to sit in jail for years waiting on it to happen either, I personally do not wish to feed,clothe and house them for even one day awaiting execution. I pray each day for the real story to come to surface and the person responsible to be brought to justice.

On the tapes with Hank telling Misty it’s a lost cause to pay to keep his wife out of jail, he’s working on getting arrested to not have to live on the streets. They are not making it so jail is going to become a free ride to 3 meals and a cot.

robin @ 7:30 ~ excellent post! i couldn’t agree with you more…i see much of the same thing played out on the blogs as well. its a shame. i wonder what anybody would have to talk about if these families were “money-rich”, lived somewhere elegant, drove fancy cars, and were highly educated to boot. yes, i know there would always be a spin on that as well. the thing is, what’s happened in the past, in the formative years of the group involved does have bearing on their character, of course…but there isn’t anything to be done about that now, and incessantly picking it apart thread by thread will do absolutely nothing to bring justice to haleigh. i feel for hank croslin, sr., he seems to truly be suffering, as would most any parent with children in that situation. they have been villafied by the press, by the general public. i say, let’s remember they are human beings, parents who feel for the whole tragedy, who sorrow because as much as they want to believe their children are not involved, the odds are weighing against them, and it must be hell to go day to day with that heavy on one’s heart.

One thing that is noticable with Hank is his derelict attitude when it comes to owning up to his own level of responsibility as a Parent. It’s almost as if he cast the shadow of blame onto Lisa alone for allowing the behaviors of their Children. There again he blames his allowing of Misty to be with Ron on Misty herself in a round about way. He says he allowed Misty to be with Ron because that way he would know where she was?

He also says he went to church and tried to do right and hoped his Children would learn from his example. Then we hear what he tells Tommy on those tapes and I get the sense that his “example” was so self serving and self absorbed that all he managed to do was create a further separation within his own family.

Kind of like a “See how good I am doing? type of thing and well Lisa ultimately is to blame for all the evils I guess so the Children had to pick a side or what?

Then we hear that Hank had wanted to leave but that he was to embarrased. Of what exactly? Being a derelict to his own family?

Maybe the I love you’s come into play here is what I am thinking. Possibly like a band-aid that is now so overused that it is nearly transparent and useless?

The charge was for a DUI causing great bodily injury:

Hank gets nothing. Hank was just notified last week of the results. The driver got 6 month probation, a 300$ fine and has to pay his attorney $9,700. He lost his license for six months and has to do to DUI school. Nothing for Croslin. Hey, that is not right….not at all.

Since he got a license suspended for 6 months and a six month probation, doesn’t seem much to me.

Me either. I personally know someone who was DUI and hit a jaywalking pedestrian (10 inches of fresh snow on the ground and driving 10 mph). Jaywalker survived with a compound fracture to her leg.

The person I know received 3 weeks jail, 4 months work release, 6 months tether, 3 years probabation, 200K fine. This person’s auto insurance had lapsed by 1 day. This person also had zero criminal history. But then again, I do live in the state were MADD was started.

CathyJo: I think Misty is a victim to some degree but, she is covering for someone and I think now more than ever that someone is Ron. She’s so young and troubled, mentally, that I think those feelings are clouding her judgement when it comes to fessing up. Misty needs help but until she sees where she’s at, nothing can help her. Ron has that hold on her and it’s stronger than what she’s facing now.

Thanks toughcookie and cathyjoe. -I am appalled this case has turned the focus from Haleigh and onto the personal lives of the Croslins. If these tapes have no evidentiary value then why release them? Is this how you conduct business when you have no evidence to support your theory on who is responsible? These people’s lives are ruined beyond repair even if they try to change to make their lives better. Hank and Lisa are not reponsible for this at all but they are forever tarred with same brush. Its sad and pathetic that this investigation for a beautiful child has turned into a crucifixion of a family that hasn’t been charged with this crime yet. JMO

Okay , I dont usually post on here but I do alot of reading of your oppinions…Which I do find interesting and appreciate. I have been following the case since this all went down over a year ago as you all have. Here is my oppinion, even after watching the last Misty and Hank tape . I believe When Ron went to work that fateful night .Misty was having diffuctly with Haleighs behavior . I believe there is a possibility Ron told or gave Misty permission to give her a drug to sedate her so she would go to bed or calm down.A drug not doctor perscribed..some of there own stash.. This could have been a regular habit for the family to do. And previous sedations happened without a problem. Unfortunately Haleigh this time around had too much and didnt make it. Misty called Ron (Back and forth calls) Ron calls Tommy to get over there and check on the situation . They,ve got hours to decide how to play this out . I believe they made a decision to get Joe involved for the disposal. Knowing they would try to frame him if they had to.They would allow him to tranfer any of his own DNA to Haleigh durring the removal.Just in case she was found right away. But they made sure to dispose of her where alligators would make short work of her disappearance.Im not so sure about Timmys involvement . But I do believe Tommy was a big part of the brain storming in this removal and set up . I think Tommy was a threat at one point to Ron and Misty …hence rat gate (Symbolic)….I also believe if Ron was indead an informant which one has to really consider …considering the rap sheet … you would think that an accidental overdose of the child of an informant would put some LE in a sticky situation…..JMHO

I am still not ruling an overdose out. Haleigh had some breathing problems, and she may not have been able to tolerate much. Whatever happened, Misty, Ronald, Joe, and Timmy know about it.

Alot of things could have happened, and LE is not too stupid to figure it out. They will, and I suspect soon.

I really hope law enforcment spoke with Tommy Croslin’s kids about the events of that night, since Tommy seems so to know things and Lisa Croslin saying ‘Misty said you and her were sitting on the couch’ then he stopped her dead in her tracks.

With that one line Lisa spoke, tons of questions come to mind. Like, whose couch were they sitting on? Tommy was a caregiver that night for his own kids – how could he be sitting on any couch other than his own. If he was sitting on Ron’s couch – where were his kids? Did he leave them unattended to go sit on Ron’s couch or to still a gun?

Did he even have his kids that night?

Misty’s statements have to fit what Junior saw & heard. Hank is creating a smokescreen with his complaining, but he’s suggesting to Misty what to come up with next. The whole family is doing that. She knows Joe hasn’t been arrested so she’s coming up with something else & the popular thing right now is Ron.

Keena I agree most with your post. Misty didn’t want to babysit that night. Since she had been gone all weekend, the 5 year old was excited to see her home again. She wouldn’t calm down. Misty either slapped her to hard, and killed her, or gave her a lethal amount of a drug. It has to be one of those 2 scenerios.

The body?? Its in the river. Gone. Eaten by the aligators. Perhaps it bothers Tommy & Jo that was what happened. And that is why their demeanor has changed this past year.
I don’t for a moment believe Misty gives a shyt. She is the MONSTER behind all of this.

I do not understand how people feel that they can decide for everyone what value or lack of value is in looking deeper into what makes the Croslin’s tick. Let’s face it the Croslin’s are going to be looked at whether some bleeding heart comes along to pity them or not. She let this guy drive her uninsured car and he got drunk and injured someone. It was her responciblity to have the car insured and not loan it out to others. Although this storm is a hurricane level 5 that may keep her in jail the rest of her life.

I’m sure the gravity of the direction things are going is starting to hit home. With time off of drugs and a clearer mind and the feedback and pressure on her, if she doesn’t break, it’s because she has nothing to offer- or if she’s going to be in jail forever, better for drugs than hurting a child.

Hank and Lisa also have unemployment to live on. Its their fault it wont stretch far enough because of fines etc. from their illegal activities. Alot of people are on unemployment right now and dont have these peoles drug history and felony records. They had 20 years to straighten out why cry now? jmo

Hi Chakra, Those tapes aren’t certainly up to date. I’m guessing more so where Misty’s thoughts might be now.

There is a fair amount of disconnection, denial etc in order to cope going on. Maybe some ignorance, not meant to belittle her. She’s got to be feeling deserted and angry with Dad saying they “can’t visit as much and deal with it”.

Ron witnessing against her, Tom me and Lyndsy mad at her.

AND SHE KNOWS THE NEWSPAPERS , BLOGS AND nANCY WATCH HER EVERY MOVE AND JUDGE HER AND KNOW THINGS ABOUT HER. And also lie a bout her, while going on about how she lies.

tobias, Tuffstuff- Yes, she has a problem.

She is on tape giving the $190 price to the UC and then rons converts that to per pill as any good salesperson would do. Sounded cheaper that way.

Both of them look awfully diry on that. You got the product and are quoting prices, that’s a mess to get out of.

And there ron with the 2 week timeframe of what deal he can make with the UC.

And misty warning the UC to let them out before the sale point because the seller didn’t want to meet anyone new. Then ron rides up front and tells the girls he will meet them back at the spot in a few minutes after they pick up the product.

Sad Cricket, sorry to hear that, and for his family.

I’ve seen no comments from the trio about being made to do the deals. Nothing about being threatend at gun point, or any talk of illegal tactics. Granted, we haven’t seen all the unredacted version of any of this, so that will be interesting when available.

I think Ron was in on that sting. Its all set up to get Misty and Tommy in jail so they can talk. That’s why there is no suspicion of Ron by LE, no tapes of him talking to anyone, no recorded phone calls, etc.. I know some don’t believe that, but I do. I saw the video and how when they pulled up behind the car, Ron reached right for the door and jumped out to go back there…like he was expecting it! And, I think Ron was way to smart to be riding around in the car like that with someone he doesn’t know. Doesn’t add up to me. And funny how he got into gen.pop, etc. Nope, none of it adds up to me. They needed a way to get to Misty and Tommy, and this was it. Ron wants to know what happened more than any of them. He tried marrying Misty to find out and still couldn’t. Why else would he hook up with her again, if not to try and get the truth.

But I guess like everything else, we shall see.

Even if Joe was arrested he would NEVER had been placed in GP in the same jail. In fact LE probably would arrange for another county to house him!

I doubt if they arrested joe for child murder he would be in gen pop. Don’t think so.

And rons rep he’s tried to form isn’t as badass as he thinks.

I think there is way too much attention on all of these folks in jail for them to be able to get close enough to do anything to each other.

And what would ron be able to pay someone to do the deed for him? Jail and prison are different. The guys in jail aren’t guilty of anything yet and don’t want to screw up before they can get out and at least plead or go to court. Of course caged felons are already a little less than trustworthy so who knows.

ron may the new ‘padilla’ or ‘dog the bounty hunter’ after all of this.:)

Ron is going to be another Casey Anthony or Scott Peterson after all this. He is trash and guilty.

I admire your passion…and I also think to each his own. Some people lend hands in our society in different ways. I personally don’t feel that the aggressive method is all that effective in making a point, although I certainly find myself doing it sometimes.
Anyway, I’m curious what you propose would be the way to ‘get off your ass and help’. And I don’t mean that with sarcasm at all…just sincere curiosity of your thought all the way through.
I myself am I recovering heroin addict. I can appreciate your compassion for these people. But I can see both sides, to be honest. We have a great system out here in California for drug offenders…free to sliding scale recovery homes and centers. But people have to either, get busted, or get off their asses and get themselves to the county to ask for help. Guess how everyone gets into them out here? It’s not by walking in without cuffs, unfortunately. If someone wants to change, they can make it happen. My last issue was 2 years ago. I lost a lot. Lived my life on the streets with mean and fast people. Got in trouble for the same type of charges Ron and Misty did, just different stuff. Was in on a 9 month sentence. I’m not proud of myself, but I came out and got my act together and now I have 3 great jobs and my family’s trust. So I’m proud of where I am today. I’m grateful. But I had to do the work. I don’t feel sorry for my friends that are still out there aside from what they saw as children. They are adults now. There’s no excuse other than you don’t want to change if you don’t. I know this from experience. I’ve seen so many people turn it around completely, who came in with less than me. Anyone who wants change has to start it themselves. That is how I feel. So I think having resources available is vital, but I firmly believe people must seek it out themselves. If they are tired and want change, they will do it. If they are forced or handed help on a silver platter, it’ll eventually be elbows to bum and they are back out the door.
Just thought I’d share my thoughts with you.

I don’t understand what people don’t understand about “working” with LE on drug stings/busts. I posted a link on one of the other threads the other day where ron’s own attorney said no way was he in on the “sting” and that he (ron) knew he was facing a lot of time because he’s realistic? (LOL)

When i say get off you ass and do something it is for the comments who will accept no answer but the one they find easiest for them……to say it,scream it,accuse without ever saying,how can i help? if they only help by not trashing someone by what their grown children have done,Its not their fault and we shouldn’t even know this about Hank and Lisa,if my name were spread everywhere and i am being trashed for what my children did when they got older then i’d be hurt too and i know they regret it bit they CANNOT change the past,whats done is done and by blaming it only adds fuel to the furnace,thats what i mean by helping??

Hello KIR! I just don’t get how anyone can STILL think Ron is innocent or was somehow working with LE. Ron’s own Attorney denies that and is scrambling to make his client a deal. It just blows my mind! Talk about denial.

And as far as Hank and Lisa go….well, they’ve made their bed….time to sleep in it. They’ve been caught doctor shopping, stealing purses, stealing checks, forging checks, etc. Take one look at Lisa and it is OBVIOUS there are some serious drug issues going on. These two winners gave birth to Timmy, Tommy and Misty and lead by example. They TAUGHT these kids how to lie, do drugs and steal. Now they are reaping what they sowed. Do I blame every parent when a child commits a crime? NO! But when you see parents who shuffled their kids around, were more concerend with their next fix than they were with food and shelter for their kids, who TAUGHT their kids how to steal, lie, manipulate and work the system and didn’t ensure their children received an education then you can bet your sweet bippy I’m going to blame the parents. Do I blame Hank and Lisa for Haleigh’s death? No! But I DO blame them for the mess their children are in and I feel NO compassion for them whatsoever. Every time they open their mouths it is to ask for a handout. To listen to these two and their offspring talk about LP and saying things like “take him for everything you can get” makes it abundantly clear this is a way of life and it is what they’ve chosen and what the kids learned from their parents. They have shown NO interest in changing their lives or trying to better themselves. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink. These two (Lisa and Hank) want a free ride. Misty specifically inserted the use of the word “gun” as a descriptor word. I found that very interesting.

Cathy, did you notice how TN said the words, “do you think she’ll talk”?
Many would take her question to mean “do you think she’ll tell what she knows that will lead us to HaLeigh”.
I took it another way, like maybe she knew exactly how to word that question on a taped call to throw people off.

KIR – I know. I don’t get it. I really truly do want to understand how and why some still support Ron. What do they see that I don’t or what do I see that they don’t? I’m not being sarcastic either! I really want to understand how two people looking at the same facts can come to two completely polar opposite conclusions. If I’m seeing things wrong or misinterpreting something, I want to know. But from EVERYTHING I’ve heard and read….Ron did drugs, he dealt drugs, he was abusive in his relationships, he was violent, he did things infront of his children that no child should ever witness, he committed statutory rape with Misty (and probably others), he took part in activities that endangered his children, he’s unstable (based on the gun in the mouth, shooting at himself, etc, situations), he lies, and he can talk about his daughter being fed to alligators and go on to brag about his knowledge of alligators without emotion or even pausing to take a breath. So someone, ANYONE, explain to me what it is I’m missing. Where is this “great father” that deserves my praise and adoration? I just don’t see it and I just don’t get it.

CathyJo – I would LOVE to see Hank and Lisa turn their lives around. But I don’t think giving them handouts and drowning them in sympathy is the way to get them to do it. Sometimes it is all about tough love and waiting for them to hit bottom. The more sympathy you give them the more you enable their behaviors. I’m sure hoping this has all been a wake-up call but it seems that even after Haleigh went missing they continued their criminal behaviors. I don’t know what it will take but hopefully SOMETHING will get them to rethink past mistakes and make them reach out for assistance (not financial either). Until THEY want to help themselves, nothing will change. LP tried to help them and they just used him and I believe they will use ANYONE who tries to help them. That is the easy way….to accept handouts. But maybe, just maybe they’ll finally hit rock bottom and they’ll realize if they want change, THEY will have to make the change. No one can do that for them. I’m all for the offering of assistance programs. I’m for helping the homeless. But you won’t see me putting a $20 bill in their hands. I’ll buy them a meal, give them a ride to a shelter, buy them some clothes…..but I know that if I give them money I might as well just buy them some dope or some alcohol. So YES, I’m about helping….but there is a right way to help people. Hank and Lisa need some tough love. They deserve to be provided some assistance programs for vocational training, education, etc…..but no free rides. THEY have to put forth some effort. They don’t need people buying them cars, giving them cig money, buying cell phones and phone cards….they NEED to being shown how to make it on their own. But FIRST they have to WANT to learn. I don’t see either of them WANTING anything but a handout. IMO.

JB, he may be guilty of all of those things, but that DOES NOT mean he murdered his daughter or was a part of harming her or throwing her to alligators!! I don’t ask that you admire him, but don’t falsely accuse someone because they are not a fit person in your eyes. Those are two different things. There are a lot of really bad parents and people out there, but it does not make them a murderer.
Why not look at someone who doesn’t care if Haleigh is harmed? or killed? or buried? or missing? Sorry, but for those exact things, I don’t see Ron or Misty (or Tommy as far as that goes). I see some screwed up people, but they loved their kids, whether or not you approved of their life style or not. Im sure there are people that can find fault with you or me and our parenting skills. Doesn’t mean I would harm my child or allow anyone else too. Even if that person thinks my life style harms my child….it goes on everywhere all over the US…look around. Doesn’t make people murderers, just crappy parents.

Hank and lisa could pitch themselves. They have a little name recognition and after celeb rehab they’d be clean and be stars. Hank would be a hoot, seriously. They’d get help, they’d open up, people would feel for them and they could turn this into a goldmine.

That’s so sad Cathy. Proud of you for being able to do that. If I knew the perpetrator was getting away with murder as he pretty much did, I’d have probably started taking drugs to keep me from hurting him. You’ve shown a lot of strength.

I do know their is a rehab in Alabama, Spanish Fort IIRC where the fee is what you can pay (if even 100 a month), you must find a job that you are physically able to do and they are pretty understanding about limitations etc., and go to the classes, plus everytime you leave for your job and return you must have a drug/alcohol test. I had a friend who had a son hooked on meth, coke and well just about everything you can name. He is 4yrs clean and continues to live in the area so he can continue with his group support etc. This might be a “limb” for the Croslins to reach for. It’s called the “Shoulders” . I do think you have a good heart CJ and I applaud you for wanting to throw a lifeline to anyone in need, just as I would do. Every time I have, I have been blessed beyond belief many times over:)

Your Empathy for these parents have solely touched my heart because when these parents have been so degraded by people with such a demeanor that I can’t understand has made me want to just blast them! I too have seen so many hard time in my past I can’t help but empathize with any parents who truly love their children through thick and thin. Speaking of caged humans I’ve heard those stories also, working in Mental health facilities all my life really helps a person understand sometimes how one can end up so messed up later in life. Thank you again for bringing alot of smiles when reading on such a tragic forum, and also to bring to the forefront that not everyone this day and time are so selfish and self centered (meaning adults! it’s really no wonder children are becoming more me, me, me selfcentered by being raised be such parents with the Holy am I attitude!

That means alot to me and i may be biased but i agree with every word you say because some people simply don’t know what others have seen and gone through and they may not even believe it when you tell them but i know everything i say is something i have experienced it and sometimes its hard to tell people because they don’t know you but once they know me i will tell it as it happenes or as it jumps into my mind,lol because it is real life and you got the message right on!

I must say that “just because the attorney says it” does NOT make it true. (i.e. in ref to Ron). In fact, in reference to anyone.
Look at Jose Baez. Just because he says Casey didn’t do it and that Zenaida did, does not make it true. And that is my point.

I don’t think I am in denial about any of this stuff with Haleigh. It is just my opinion that it is highly possible that it was a set up with LE and Ron, etc. That is my opinion. What, do you really think they would admit it at this point and blow the case? I doubt it. At least that seems logical to me for them to deny it.

They are no closer today than the first day of knowing where Haleigh is, period!

I am in agreement with your thoughts on the Sheffield’s. Enjoy your contribution here and keeping the focus on the most important matter at hand and that is HaLeigh and that is all we truly know.
I am not in agreement that PCSO has not put enough of the pieces together at this point to not have a clearer view today of who is responsible.
TJ Hart is a very preceptive person in my opinion and has gleaned the simple and obvious IMO of LE’s tactics and the direction the investigation is headed in, but, is cautious to not bet the farm, LOL.
I guess we are just going to have to be patient and wait for LE to show their hand with an arrest.
