Sir, dont you think banning facebook is the right decision at this time? Because if people see the depictions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on facebook, they’ll be outraged, just like it happened a few years ago and there were riots.

It is actually helping your enemies or those who want to put forward their image of islam and muslims as you will have no way of putting forward your point of view. ^^ in uae facebook was banned a long time ago and many of people there are just bypassing it. you just have to know which links are working as i was able to connect facebook here and reported that link so it should also be removed and searching to more to report them .

This is just plain stupidity. First of all, our “heroes” from the media “publicized” this link informing us all that it existed. Then I kept receiving cause notices saying “We are against the. . . .”, now take a look at this, whenever we join a cause, what they basically do is put the words “we are against. . . .” and repeat that entire extremely insulting and disrespecting phrase or sentence. We join it and do the damage ourselves. After we join it, our friends are notified of our activity of joining the said cause and in that way the insult keeps pouring in. Okay so I have mixed feelings regarding this ban. I say they are mixed because I do realise that its not the end of the world if we cannot access Facebook till the 31st. But the reason for the ban is absolutely ridiculous.

I come from a “religious” family and even for me this ban does not make sense. All Muslims would not like to see people defaming the Prophet (SAW), but we’ve got to face facts and realise that this is happening all over the internet. Yes, there’s an event on Facebook for this, but there are also trillions of YouTube pages solely dedicated to defaming Islam and our Prophet (SAW). There are also trillions of forums making fun of Islam. While we disagree with them, we cannot simply shut ourselves off from what is going on. Why aren’t we banning the internet as a whole? Why didn’t we ban Facebook when the first anti-Islam group was created?

I do realise that Facebook does get revenue and that the ban will affect them in a negative way, but it would have been SO much cooler if Muslims CHOSE to not go on Facebook themselves in order to protest instead of haviing no choice whatsoever.

While reading the comments on this page, I couldn’t help but notice the mass generalisation we’re making towards each other. Being “religious” does not = living in a cave. I know that that’s sadly how it seems, but its not true. Also, being secular does not = loving God less or anything of the sort. I think we should all just stop judging each other and simply look inward. ALL of us need to be open-minded when it comes to religion.

And by the way, facebook does earn alot from pakistan as, being a free site, it earns through the pay-per-click rate… That is approx. $2.50 per person… and so we contribute alot to their revenue… banning the site temporarily is a good step…

If we make cartoonist characters and therefore fun of Holocaust, we can imagine how they will react. How does banning facebook make you a better muslim? It’s the equivalent of an ostrich burying it’s head in the sand.

It does not make us a better Muslim. we are sinners. All of us. But we still have some shame. And we respect Our HOLY PROPHET from the HEART.. Dont you feel degraded, even a tad bit?

Instead of wasting time on facebook, as usually more than 90% of Pakistanis do, we should make our own Muslim Book. People who are against this activity are greater in value then the people in favor, but still facebook didn,t stoped it, and nobody bothered all around globe, But when Govt of Pakistan ban facebook, the media, news papers and electronic media start talking about it. I would like to say, that i really appriciate the step of Govt of Pakistan to ban facebook, atleast they record their feelings regarding this issue, and i suggest if facebook didn’t take action to rectify their mistake then ban facebook forever. I am sure soon other Muslim countries will join Pakistan to ban facebook.

Man I am unable to understand why its a big deal in your view to not use facebook? CHINA and Vietnam has already banned it in their country for their own reasons.

They delete fake profiles in 24 hours, fake name in 24 hours, nude pictures profile in 200 reports….. but they can’t delete that page when more then 2 million people reported it , also everyone can see this is against muslim…….If no one trust me then go and make a page against JEW , you will realize it will be deleted in 24 hour……they are not banning the problematic page due to certain plan and agenda…..

Pakistani’s make up less than 2% of facebook users, so trust me, it’s no loss for the maker of facebook. Plus he doesn’t even endorse any of the groups, the website is based on freedom of speech, which is why they don’t delete any of the groups.

Moreover if in the past no government has performed any efforts against such incident, if currently it is being done, why not see it positively for a change and help by bringing all such sites to the front and prevent the manipulation of our fellow Muslims. Why encouraging them to disgrace our Heroes for their personal pleasures. i am a freelance photographer. i have been using facebook to communicate with my family and share pictures and videos of mine and theirs everyday lives that we miss out on.

i also use it to communicate with my clients, show them samples, even to deliver the final pictures sometimes.

i have seen the page that is being mentioned and it indeed is quiet offensive to me and definately would be to any muslim.

but that page was created by an individual and not by facebook. i reported that page for having racist and haterd spreading material and it was taken off but sadly another one was created right afterwards.

my point is that by banning facebook that person is not loosing anything. those pages are still there and so are their members.

but on the other hand i and allot of people like me who do their networking via facebook are suffering great losses.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the Old Testament:

The Qur’an mentions in Surah Al-Araf chapter 7 verse 157:

“Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures) in the law and the Gospel”.

1.
MUHAMMAD (PBUH) PROPHESISED IN THE BOOK OF DEUTERONOMY:

Almighty God speaks to Moses in Book of Deuteronomy chapter 18 verse 18:

“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”

The Christians say that this prophecy refers to Jesus (pbuh) because Jesus (pbuh) was like Moses (pbuh). Moses (pbuh) was a Jew, as well as Jesus (pbuh) was a Jew. Moses (pbuh) was a Prophet and Jesus (pbuh) was also a Prophet.

If these two are the only criteria for this prophecy to be fulfilled, then all the Prophets of the Bible who came after
Moses (pbuh) such as Solomon, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Malachi, John the Baptist, etc. (pbut) will
fulfill this prophecy since all were Jews as well as prophets.

However, it is Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who is like Moses (pbuh):

i)

Both had a father and a mother, while Jesus (pbuh) was born miraculously without any male intervention.

[Mathew 1:18 and Luke 1:35 and also Al-Qur’an 3:42-47]

ii)
Both were married and had children. Jesus (pbuh) according to the Bible did not marry nor had children.

iii)
Both died natural deaths. Jesus (pbuh) has been raised up alive. (4:157-158)

Muhammad (pbuh) is from among the brethren of Moses (pbuh). Arabs are brethren of Jews. Abraham (pbuh) had two sons: Ishmail and Isaac (pbut). The Arabs are the descendants of Ishmail (pbuh) and the Jews are the descendants of Isaac (pbuh).

Words in the mouth:

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was unlettered and whatever revelations he received from Almighty God he repeated them verbatim.

“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”

[Deuteronomy 18:18]

iv)
Both besides being Prophets were also kings i.e. they could inflict capital punishment. Jesus (pbuh) said, “My kingdom is not of this world.” (John 18:36).

v)
Both were accepted as Prophets by their people in their lifetime but Jesus (pbuh) was rejected by his
people. John chapter 1 verse 11 states, “He came unto his own, but his own received him not.”

iv)
Both brought new laws and new regulations for their people. Jesus (pbuh) according to the Bible did not bring any new laws. (Mathew 5:17-18).

It is Mentioned in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 18:19

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not harken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”

3.
Muhammad (pbuh) is prophesised in the book of Isaiah:

It is mentioned in the book of Isaiah chapter 29 verse 12:

“And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.”

When Archangel Gabrail commanded Muhammad (pbuh) by saying Iqra - “Read”, he replied, “I am not learned”.

prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mentioned by name in the old testament:

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned by name in the Song of Solomon chapter 5 verse 16:

“Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem.”

“His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters
of Jerusalem.”

In the Hebrew language im is added for respect. Similarely im is added after the name of Prophet Muhammad
(pbuh) to make it Muhammadim. In English translation they have even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as “altogether lovely”, but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is yet present.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the New Testament:

Al-Qur’an Chapter 61 Verse 6:

“And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said, ‘O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me and giving glad tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed.’ But when he came to them with clear signs, they said, ‘This is evident sorcery!’ ”

All the prophecies mentioned in the Old Testament regarding Muhammad (pbuh) besides applying to the Jews also hold good for the Christians.

1.
John chapter 14 verse 16:
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.”

2.
Gospel of John chapter 15 verse 26:

“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which
proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.”

3.
Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 7:

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not
come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you”.

“Ahmed” or “Muhammad” meaning “the one who praises” or “the praised one” is almost the translation of the
Greek word Periclytos. In the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, and 16:7. The word ‘Comforter’ is used in the English translation for the Greek word Paracletos which means advocate or a kind friend rather than a comforter.
Paracletos is the warped reading for Periclytos. Jesus (pbuh) actually prophesised Ahmed by name. Even the
Greek word Paraclete refers to the Prophet (pbuh) who is a mercy for all creatures.

Some Christians say that the Comforter mentioned in these prophecies refers to the Holy Sprit. They fail to realise
that the prophecy clearly says that only if Jesus (pbuh) departs will the Comforter come. The Bible states that the
Holy Spirit was already present on earth before and during the time of Jesus (pbuh), in the womb of Elizabeth, and again when Jesus (pbuh) was being baptised, etc. Hence this prophecy refers to none other than Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh).

4.
Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 12-14:

“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is
come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me”.

The Sprit of Truth, spoken about in this prophecy referes to none other than Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

i just read that few of our fellows are saying that this is not fair to put ban of youtube and facebook because if you need to find anything about prophet S.A.W than you can find it on youtube. i don’t disagree with you. but the thing is they show you 100s of good video about holy prophet S.A.W than they show one offensive picture, you say its ok someone would have posted it but after 3 years they show you 2 offensive pictures after 100 of good videos than after few more years they will show you 1 offensive video out of 100 videos. you may notice but by than your subconscious mind would have accepted it, but you again try to focus on good videos but one day there will be 50 good and 50 offensive, and now its not you watching this. now its your children, now they will be able to completely isolate this generation from religion…

Facebook will barely suffer any losses from this ‘boycott’ until the 31st. Facebook makes $.03 per click. If almost 2 million Pakistani’s block facebook, that’s a loss of $0.15 million. That’s milk money for Facebook.
Remember, you’re dealing with website that is still thriving even after being banned in 3 other countries. So if you think this is going to ‘destroy their economy’, you have another thing coming.

Shouldn’t it be better to make a counter-protest group on facebook? Some Pakistanis made one called ‘AGAINST Everybody Draw Mohammad Day’ and it had so many more members than the actual page, until the government decided to block the page.

And since they chose to block youtube and facebook, why not all the hundreds of thousands of pornographic websites out there? Aren’t those also ‘un-islamic’?

Also, some people mentioned that facebook deleted the ‘Everyone Celebrate Holocaust Day’ within 24 hours while it didn’t delete the Everybody Draw Mohammad Day.

The Holocaust was the worst recorded genocide in History, and it killed between 11 - 17 million people. Why would anyone want to celebrate such an event, unless you’re a racist asshole.And how can anyone compare it to a bunch of stupid drawings made by a few thousand bored people on facebook?

Also, most of the people who made the drawings are athiests. So calling them ‘Jews’ and ‘Hindus’ doesn’t help anything.

Just because of some sick minded individuals the so called dignified Judiciary of Pakistan shouldn’t have blocked the whole medium. this world is filled with good and evil it’s upto us to choose between the good and bad. As a matter of fact Facebook has lot to offer because of FB Muslims and Non-Muslims were interacting with each other and lot of misconceptions about Pakistanis and Muslims being ill-literate, In-tolerant, extremists and terrorists were being cleared. We forgot about those countless groups, forums and videos which were promoting the positive image and proper message of Islam on Facebook and YouTube

And not to forget because of YouTube we came across some wonderful eye openers such as ‘The Arrivals’. and I wonder why are we even believing that they are drawing our Beloved Prophet(P.B.U.H) so pathetic of us to even believe that. We should be courageous enough to say right on their faces that this stupid drawing of yours can never be our Holy Prophet(P.B.U.H) even believing that they are drawing Him is a sin and by imposing a ban these websites we have restricted ourselves behind walls where no one can hear our protest. It is nothing but a foolish decision.

Well.. i read many as many comments as i could.. well i could make only one conclusion that this Guy/Girl Ameeratron is a Stubborn Mentally Sick Person..
