We’ll Meet Again is set during the fourth year into World War II, where a quiet English village of Market Wetherby is in for a shock. This isn’t some German invasion that is about to hit them but it is the arrival of American servicemen at the US base.

The new servicemen joining are rather different from the normal soldiers already there. Many of the locals describe the newcomers as overpaid and oversexed. Naturally the new comers don’t seem to blend in with most of the villagers. The Yanks seem to be at odds with them.

The local doctor of the village, Dr. Helen Dereham (Susannah York) and the base commander Major James Kylie (Michael J. Shannon) are attracted to one another and they strike up a distinctly warmer relationship. Needless to say in a small village like Market Wetherby few people are left untouched by the occurring events.

We’ll Meet Again seems to capture the drama of wartime with a mix of nostalgia, romance and intrigue.
