Thank you, I enjoyed your article very much.

Basic changes need to be addressed and made in order for the United States Government to stop creating these fires for its own people, the taxpayers, to put out!

Agree. There really isn't clarity in any aspect of government despite promises of change.

It appears our politicans, elected for and by the people, are motivated by greed and profit for the benefit of self. They become career, one could almost use the term, criminals, because their long tenures allow them to solidify relationships with large campaign donors.

Firstly, if government were listening to the people, term limits would have been instituted many years ago.

The argument used is the people have a choice when voting.

However, these career politicans have their publicity machinery in place and inundate the average voter with misleading ads, false promises, and downright mistruths or, at best, ambiguous statements as to progress or earmarks obtained for their own constituents, not for the good of the nation as a whole.

Therefore, reform in campaign funds needs to be made into law so that financing can no longer dictate the success of a candidate.

The monies contributed to these candidates is again, solely for obligatory reasons - 'I wash your hand, then you wash mine'.

What then happens as a result, when a Bill comes before that particular candidate down the line, it is impossible for he or she to vote against this great financer of their campaign who helped them win the election in the first place, and who will be there when needed for the next election.

The voter is not considered to be of any importance.

Our representatives in Washington, whether it be Congress or Senate, are embedded with capitalist agendas; which seem to grow and be expanded upon year after year as these represenatives obtain more and more power because of tenure.

Knowledge is power.

However, our media, unfortunately is also embedded with these same sectors as they pay enormous amounts for advertising creating a conflict of interest in fairly reporting news, particularly political news.

Mandatory campaign limits as well as term limits should be implemented in fair and equal amounts so that money alone no longer dictates the successfulness of a worthy candidate for any government office. An example could be:

      a) six years for Senate, ad
      b) four years for Congress.

Limited campaign funds would again serve the same purpose, giving fair and equal opportunity to all candidates, but it would cut down on the time of campaigning which seems to be increasing with every election since there would be a limited amount of money each had to spend.

(Most of the votes become so tired of the 'same old, same old', that by election time they have totally lost interest.)

Campaign funds limited, say as follows:

     a) $5M each potential candidate for president;

        i) $5M for the winner of any and all  parties in their bid for election*;

       ii) $2M for each potential candidate running for Senate**, and $2M for each winner of any and all parties in their bid for the Senate seat;
      iii) $1M for each potential candidate running for Congress***, and $1M for each winner of any and all parties in their bid for Congress.

       These are simply my opinions on how to get back to a basic honest core, a solid foundation for the people and by the people as was meant by our Founding Fathers and upon which this country rose to be one of the greatest of all time.****

_____________
* The Presidential candidate has had available to he or she, $5 million, plus an additional $5 million, so in total $10 million.

** The Senate is confined to a smaller geographical area so, obviously, less funding is required. Total of $4M should create a shorter time frame for campaiging thereby creating a more interested voter pool.

*** The Congress is condensed to an extremely smaller area and, again, less funding required. And, as with the Senate campaign, the voter's interest might be easier to capture.

**** Again, just my personal opinons, and thanks for listening. If you agree then contact your local, state and Federal representatives TODAY.
