I am sure that some people were disappointed, we did not spend the entire 90 minutes on Haleigh Cummings. Wake up folks! Haleigh is just a symptom. The disease is much larger.
We do our best to bring the very latest ‘credible’ news on the case, but spending 90 minutes talking about the 8 hours of DVD jail tapes released last week seemed a pointless excursion. We have made them all available, and un-edited for your listening pleasure, I leave it up to the listener and reader to draw their own conclusions.
If you missed them:
Oh I am sure that I have missed a few, but I am equally sure that most readers have already listened to them.
Our Guests today were Denny Griffin, or as he likes to be known ‘The Crime Doctor’. Denny always amazes me, he listens, computes, and then offers a well thought out and rational question (or five)!
Deliliah Jones is the voice for the missing and abused. She is the creator and administrator of the victim’s rights and crime survivors blog, “Time’s Up!” and is also the Owner of ImaginePublicity.
Our final guest was Jaemi Levine, she is the Founder and President of Mothers Against Predators. In part her resume reads…Technology in our digital world is impacting the lives of our children and we must be prepared to create a safer environment.. Jaemi is currently running for a position on the Broward County School Board, District 4, which is the 6th largest district in the country.
With an illustrious band of folks like this, I knew that there was little that Jan or I could do to narrow down the conversation to just the Haleigh Cummings and Caylee Anthony cases. In fact, why would we?
Haleigh and Caylee have grabbed the countries attention. But, these are just two examples in an ocean of missing, abused, and dead children.
Everyone cries ‘foul’ when some sad story makes it to the press. A little child missing, how awful!
Child abuse, child neglect, and child endangerment are what we here in the press, but, they only ever talk about one case. The Caylee Anthony case caught the media’s attention. But, she is just one of thousands of cases.
Off and on, the search for Haleigh Cummings has hit the press. While I am no big fan of Nancy Grace, I do have to thank her for keeping the story alive. Often the news is old and secondhand, but, at least she tries.
The real issue is not Caylee or Haleigh, but the thousands of other cases that no-one seems to care about.
Caylee is dead, there is nothing that can be done to bring her back. The best we can hope for is that justice is served. That may, or may not happen.
Haleigh is missing, unfortunately she has been missing for such a long time that one has to wonder about her situation. Is she alive or dead? There are more suspects than an Agatha Christie novel. I even have a title for the book ‘Murder On The Oxycontin Express’.
It was a great program, if you missed it, you can listen to the recording here.
